QuoteNaturalust QuoteOlly QuoteNaturalust With all the posts here about the Stones losing relevance some 35-40 years ago (mine included) I guess we're all just a bunch of nostalgic fools to still be such big fans. I'm gonna go cry in my Corn Flakes now. Thankfully great music is lasting, timeless and if it still makes you feel good, relevance becomes somewhat meaningless. Relevant

nothing personal i just don't like synthesizers. we had that in 89' 90' i just did not think it went with the stones sound. one keyboard player is enough in my humble opinion. Don't take offence, its just my penny's worth. its allowed on iorr. cheers.

Quotemtaylor QuoteTurner68 QuoteBrstonesfan Charlie more or less confirms MT was the musical force behind their greatness..... riiight... they were nowhere before they met MT right? Interesting comment from Charlie. Seems like Charlie really wanted him to continue on tour, but others didn't. Something went wrong in the end. Only God knowns if we ever will know. I got the feeling kei

Quotemtaylor Quotekeefriffhards Quotemtaylor It is very interesting that CW raised the issue on MT not being back on tour and CW obviously wanting him back...... and CW now just want the US tour to finished and going back to London. CW, give MJ a punch in his face........ MT is thousand times better on stage than CL and MC. Why MJ absolutely want this stupid MC on stage is a wonder!!!!!!!

Quotewith sssoul Quotekeefriffhards he did some weird thing on the stage with band members all crouched low before he started. don't know what that was all about lol The Winos started all their shows that way - it looked like a good ritual was a bit of an anti climax hitting the stage then just crouching low down like that for a minute . some kind of voodoo thing going on i thought at th

QuoteBrstonesfan Quotekeefriffhards QuoteBrstonesfan I respectfully disagree. The Taylor era albums and live shows clearly reflect that his amazing playing did not drown out Mick ,Keith or the rest of the band. Rather, he added a element of a powerful lead which in turn resulted in Keith becoming a greater rhythm guitar player . There is no reason to assume that MT , like the rest of the b

QuoteStoneburst I think it's more about younger generations persistently trying to recapture the spirit of a very powerful, enduring age. The 1960s were a tremendously optimistic time - in Britain, you had full employment, a young generation that had gone to university for the first time, and a (since long-lost) BBC that had balls and wasn't constantly trying to justify its own existenc

Yes, I did - it was on his birthday! Think i saw him the night before his birthday. What did you think. He was fascinating, liquid limbed, and he stares right into you. he did some weird thing on the stage with band members a

I was there but not that close. Great gig Cool. i think they closed the place down shortly after he played there. it had a big bar at the back, you could drink from the bar and watch the show or get right to the front

QuoteMel Belli May I humbly ask that we wait to hear the album before lodging complaints?! Even if it was the Best album (cd) in the world, loads of people will still find fault with it. You cant please all the people all the time. Already people are saying Mick Taylor Should play with Keith if he tours. Waddy Wachtel is the man i believe. Although a tour with Ronnie and Keith would be great.

QuoteBastion Reckon Keith would get away with doing a couple of tracks from this album in his two song slot with the Stones? Err let me think. its a hard one. NO. its the same as Keith letting Mick sing Just Another Night or Lets work. its not going to happen baby.

Quotecorriecas My guess is, he will do some solo gigs, to coincide with the release of his new album. Maybe shows in London and NYC. With some luck, the South American shows will go ahead, or.....they will start recording a new Stones album in the months November, december and the SA leg will start in february 2016.They can promote the New Stones album that way. After that the European Summer To

QuoteDreamer QuoteDeanGoodman Quotedcba So that means the SA tour won't happen...? In a way that's not really surprising, Venezuela is in the toilet, Brazil still recovers from the World Cup and faces the 2016 O-Games and and Argentina's back to the Menem years. With the 3 main markets in dire straits it's hard to build a SA tour. Stones take priority, as Keith always

I want to tip toe into the Taylor discussion's through fear and trepidation of getting a hundred Taylorites jumping down my throat. but here goes anyway lol. This is not a wind up, its something i have thought for a long time. Mick Taylor as incredible as his playing is, can to my mind be so overpowering in the early seventies live, that he kind of drowns out the stones. So as good as he

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteBrstonesfan Are we still only 14th all time sales tied with Aerosmith(an awful band) at 65.5 million USA? Doesn't matter. Brilliant, innit? That Aerosmith could do so much with so few LPs? Amazing. And a kick ass band. agreed after the Stones i like to watch Aerosmith, the best Stones imitation you can get. Steve Tyler an incredible force of nature. I wish Mick J

QuoteNaturalust Quotekeefriffhards QuoteNaturalust Keith and Patti: Delightful, fun to party with and great tippers. I do recall trying very hard not to appear starstruck or talk about anything Stones. My experience was in Baja California and we were in my element. Patti was drop dead gorgeous and Keith was pretty much in charge of all the activities, a true master of ceremonies and huge presence

QuoteHairball I predict! One ballad. One reggae. One soul (could also be a ballad - see above). One country. Two R&B/funk. Two Blues (one real slow). Three fast-tempo rockers. Four mid-tempo rockers. Also: No disco. No rap. No politics. No lead singer from India. No horrible "contemporary" production. No nonsense. yeah something like that i would imagine, I
