2791. Re: Keith
QuoteNaturalust No story yet as far as I can tell. But I hope the rumors and speculation are true. Not only would it be great news but I get the feeling keeping Keith in good playing shape will bode well for future Stones shows. Perhaps we'll get some early confirmation from Dreamer or his Mountie friend. I believe they are close to the Keith camp. You took the words right out of my mou

Quotewith sssoul "We're not THAT band anymore, anyway. We're a bunch of different bands. English reviewers seem to have this weird idea of the Rolling Stones as being this band and we've never been THAT band, but they imagine we are. We can do THAT band if we wanna... I don't see why we can't make a record that doesn't sound like the Rolling Stones. We

Sorry to change the subject. Keith's acoustic on Spanish laddies, the piece Keith played in pirates and again on shine a light. Its one of the most soulful sounds i ever heard. I just wondered if there is anything out there with Keith playing similar, or was it just a one off on Keith's part. He certainly put his stamp on that piece, because it sounds nothing like la Malaguena

Quotejlowe I seem to recall that over 6 months ago Keith inferred that with the current spate of Stones activity, it would mean his solo record would not surface until around September. This is precisely what is happening. The SA tour will happen, no doubt, but will have to wait. I don't buy into the "economic argument" either....plenty of other Acts are doing tours.. Expect SA

Quotekahoosier If the cause is Keith's solo album, then he is basically reversing the stance that he has maintained for years about solo work, and effectively making a mockery of his justification for the great Richards-Jagger war of the 80's. Keith wanted to tour, Jagger wanted to work at his solo career, battle lines were drawn. Keith stated and has maintained in all the years since

QuoteNaturalust With Mick singing, Charlie on drums, Keith playing those instantly recognizable parts they will always sound like the Stones to me. Charlies kind of rushing the beat style provides a foundation for the others that is instantly identifiable. Very much sound like the Stones... What has changed pretty dramatically, imo is that they don't play the songs at lightening speed an

lots on this thread from people who don't post many times in ten years, its like people are coming out for Keith solo. Maybe it is nice to have something different from doom and gloom, and miss you, after all this time. i mean with one more shot, Mick did not even try to make that number work live because he did not write it. but for me its a far more Stonesy track and better once you hear

QuoteLongBeachArena72 QuoteTurner68 QuoteLongBeachArena72 QuoteNaturalust With all the posts here about the Stones losing relevance some 35-40 years ago (mine included) I guess we're all just a bunch of nostalgic fools to still be such big fans. I'm gonna go cry in my Corn Flakes now. Thankfully great music is lasting, timeless and if it still makes you feel good, relevance becomes

It was very normal like talking to any other Person and not the 'wow, what a star!' Feeling. He is a very nice guy, and it was very interesting talking to him. You could spend a night with him at a bar chatting about various topic

Come on people this is the second time the SA shows have been rumoured then cancelled. There is more to this than meets the eye. Did Keith just say f--k it, i'm releasing my album and doing some shows and that's that. The Guys got 300 + million dollars, he can do what he wants. Keith has been putting the release of his album off for so long now, i just think he said right that's i

QuoteStoneage Am I the only one thinking Keith quite often is a beat off on his solos? Some of his solos arent't friendly to my ears. And they are a bit static as well. QuoteNaturalust QuoteTurner68 what's ironic about that is that the stones made a name for themselves and became who they were by questioning *everything* done by those who came before, and mostly doing the opposite. they played guitars because it was outrageous. ditto drugs, androgyny, bohemian lifestyle, becoming musicians etc. the imitators often don't get it: a mick jagger and keith
