It was over 2 hours long right? 85 percent of the show and its artists was complete garbage for my taste. I hoped for something brilliant but to no avail. But then I tend to think that all music ended at best around 1978. About Lou Reed's quote posted above; I don't get it. Sounds like he's describing many of Frank Zappa's albums. How is it that country music now sounds like p

Mick Taylor is responsible for removing himself from the band and therefor seizing his own ability to create within the band. In walks Ronnie and the rest is history.

Quotejpasc95 Lots of people, fans and non-fans think that Ronnie is an average guitarist, especially compared to Mr Taylor Mick. I consider Ronnie an overall better guitarist than Mick Taylor. Mick is for the most part a blues guitar soloist. A damn good one too. But, Ronnie is a bluesman.

Quotealimente Quotethree16 I think I remember Ronnie stating they recorded 18 new tracks when they came up with the last two in 2012. Ronnie! Yes...what can I say? He always confuses things a bit...it's not 18 new tracks, it's 18 bars of one new track. It's possible these guys will have a surprise for us soon. They are good at that. This of course after another live DVD i

someone's twitter via one of those 12/12/12 articles posted above "@AdamMoskowitz wrote “I don’t think he thought thru that set very well, didn’t fit the occasion & he looked like a biker chick #kanye #121212concert .” Someone please tell me how he looks like a biker chic? Lol. too funny

Quotestonehearted QuoteRokyfan QuoteRokyfan Wow. You think Mick Jagger spends one second of his time reading internet boards about the Rolling Stones (i.e., that he spends his time reading what you and i have to say)? Hah! That is hilarious. Hahaha. You think what Mick Jagger is doing in bed before he goes to sleep is reading us. Hahaha. fyi, one of the recent new additions to the IORR

Quote71Tele Yet another waste of Taylor, and yet another wasted opportunity (if you actually care about music). At this point one has to wonder about the motivations of certain people. They seemed determined to use the man as a one-song freak show, rather than a former member who helped make the magic that enables them to cash these big paychecks decades later. If I sound bitter it's because

Good to see them performing again. I find it interesting that their new stage backdrop to which they use to show live cams is a cube shape. A one dimensional image of a three dimensional cube.

Someone had mentioned Bill playing but it was Ronnie that played bass on the Emotional Rescue song, And Taylor played bass on Fingerprint File. (ronnie played it live '75-76) Bill did play bass on the Miss You track, embellished it further than what Billy Preston probably was playing via his keyboard bass lines. Steel Wheels has lots of Bill Wyman tastefully placed bass lines.

All of the Ron Wood guitar solos are great. Simply because Ron Wood has great taste. His playing conveys that to my ears. And as far as I'm concerned - is all that matters.

QuoteDeluxtone Yes to Angel - so unique and distinctive. As for 'Go Blind' - ok - good example of Ronnie style - but it's not Blue or soulful. He just can't help going to his jittery, bendy, loopy stuff. He always makes his guitar laugh (express fun and frolics) - rather than cry. Keith's licks are bluesty but Ronnie's aren't. And that's Ron's main

It's an excellent track and mixed superbly - an infectious groove that swings deep in the pocket with a cleverly simple lyric.

when I watched that rehearsal video and realized how great it sounds I just smile laugh. Thinking back at how the guitars and groove kept me hypnotized I don't even remember hearing any bass. Must of been really good. wow.

The theme of the NFL seems to be revenge games this year. That's how all the playoff games are sitting now. Eli won SB in Peyton's house. So it wouldn't surprise me if Peyton wins SB in Eli's house.

Quoterollmops I like Keith's retort "an embarrassement of Richards". That would make a nice title for a compilation of his best songs. Rock and Roll, Mops Lol. That could make him embarrassingly Richer!

QuoteRollin92 He has said for years that he wasn't interested in a full tour, don't forget he is 77 now! He did, as Gazza rightly pointed out, want a bigger role in the 50th anniversary celebrations in their home town. As a gigging musician, as many others on here will back me up, 2 songs and your just getting into the groove. To have a 'warm up' essentially as his spotligh
