If the Stones had put out Dirty Work in 2016 instead of 1986, posters here would be falling over themselves in praise of what ferocity and bite the boys still have. It would be instantly hailed as the best album since... Undercover.

A lot of warmth in his vocals and performance, and he translates that soulful vibe to his guitar playing. On Make No Mistake, he made no mistake -- which is surprising given latter day shows with the Stones. Maybe he's just worn out that old formula and does better as a Tom Waits type solo act. With the right supporting players, Keith is really still pretty viable as a performer.

QuoteWinning Ugly VXIII am going to have to strongly disagree that "Out of Control" has ever been the "3rd weakest" song at any concert they've ever performed it in. It was very strong in '97 and '05 and even in '15 although not as strong in '15 as earlier performances. It was even stronger in '72 when The Temptations performed it:

Hmm... sound and production-wise, it kind of reminds me of the best of the McVicar soundtrack and his mid-80s LP release Under A Raging Moon -- catchy stuff with bite, at least according to the clip of the new single (As Long As I Have You) which the OP posted. Ten years ago it sounded like he might be at the end of the road, vocally. No one ever dreamed he'd bounce back to sound this

File this under one of those "social media posts that go bacterial": Famed physicist Stephen Hawking died Tuesday at the age of 76, and before he departed this world, he left us with warnings that Earth is headed for a “catastrophic ending” in the near future. This doom will not come from a fiery asteroid or even global warming, but from rising inequality fueled by increasingly sm

Will no one comment how at 11:29 Charlie picks food out from between his upper teeth, which goes on for a full 3 seconds? Or is this just another one of the eternally cool gestures of the beloved Mr. Watts?

I remember watching it at the time. It made me cringe. I was 12, and even hadn't started liking girls yet. Why would we need to witness such behavior from men in their seventies?

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteRocky Dijon QuoteDandelionPowderman Soon it's been 27 years without Bill Wyman, not 25. He quit in 1991, and didn't join the band for making the Highwire and Sex Drive-videos. And Darryl joined in 1993, or 1994? Darryl joined in 1993 if we count the recording sessions. Bill is indeed part of the "Sex Drive" music video. Perhaps you were distra

QuoteElmo Lewis Robert has aged badly - at least he looks that way on the Dan Rather promo. As far as a 70-year-old man goes, he looks fine. Still has most all of his hair, and a fair percentage still has color -- not many septuagenarians can say that. He only looks to have "aged badly" if you hold in your mind a before and after image of 1968 vs. 2018. No one at 70 looks lik

Led Zeppelin broke up because their drummer died. But what if he hadn't, and they were still around, still making (treadmill) albums? And Robert was still trying to be yesterday's Plant? People would be wondering why they couldn't create another Stairway, or even another Communication Breakdown. Because it's 2018 and not 1968. Besides, "Never Say Never"

The first version, the one you hear in this video clip, has the alternate Mick vocals, not the final vocal take. His vocals are more "tentative" here. There are two versions of 19th on this disc -- the first is what you here in this video cli

QuoteGasLightStreet Mick has written some mature lyrics... or lyrics that seem mature. Mainly with the ballads: Almost Hear You Sigh, Out Of Tears, Biggest Mistake. Laugh... I Nearly Died is probably the best thing he's written since Waiting On A Friend. That's a Keith song, left over from the Talk Is Cheap sessions. Demo, with Keith vocals: Probably Mick added some words, but

The guy onstage was abusing the privilege of being there. You could see him cradling the bottom of the mic set-up like a... well, rocket man. The way he was gesturing, flicking his fingers about, it must have been distracting -- not to mention a bit insulting in its suggestive nature. Kind of amusing that this happened just before Elton sings the line about "get a little aggravation

Why do people have it in their heads that Charlie suffers from back problems? We only have Woody's word for it, something he said to a journalist during a rehearsal period a couple years ago. Anything Ron Wood says should be taken with a gram of salt. Of course Charlie wouldn't mind if the Stones were to stop -- it doesn't mean the same to him as it does to, say, Keith, f
