I am a huge Kinks fan since my high school days in the late 70's/early 80's. My first concert was Cheap Trick opening, Kinks headliner at The Riverside Theater in Milwaukee, WI April 1977. I have to admit that Muswell Hillbillies was not a big favorite for me. Great songwriting but the sound was just not my favorite. The Kinks had 4 periods in my mind. 1) early 63-67 2) i

QuoteEddieByword I think "All the rage" would have been pretty decent in BS's place.......... Also, I noticed that except for 2 renditions, they also dropped iorr from the setlist......... I personally have never cared for live IORR after the 75 tour. I really loved the 1975 lurching chugging version. Never cared much for it from 76 on live, always seemed too fast and it chan

Quotejohnnythunders You are welcome Why WB released Coast To Coast instead of this gig beggars belief Best point of the day! Coast to Coast was so disappointing as compared to bootlegs of the similar period. How do these record companies always seem to get this stuff wrong back in the day.

Quoteautomaticchanger The two shows from Auburn on November 14th have yet to surface as well. The circulating source for Dallas is pretty poor but complete. A taper that used to come to record shows in Milwaukee for many years told me a long story about an HQ recording exists of Auburn. He was always vague about who owned it and where it is. This guy was a serious player in the tape circles so

I found it heartwarming that the family had this wonderful celebration of Charlie.

The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame is a disgrace for many, many omissions and slights through the years. I can proudly say they have never received a nickel of my money and I actively bash them at any possible time. Have swayed many folks in my circle to avoid them. About all a regular Joe can do.

It appears this lot is no longer available. I believe it to be a near historical media document. I think it was a bargain if it stayed near the $10,000.

While I get the business end of this. Makes 100% sense that the boys get a big payday, get a warmup show, the money pays for rehearsal expenses, on and on. But... there is still something that just doesn't sit well with me and it is just my lowly opinion, two original Stones with basically a traveling "all-star" band playing to 200 ultra millionaires. With Charlie gone it just

"Just a while ago Ray Davies - in a joined Kinks tribute to Charlie - recalled that once they were having a drink, Charlie said that the Stones had asked him to join, and he wanted to know what Ray thought about it. Ray recommended it warmly and said the Stones were a great band. Now we heard that it was Ginger Baker who had recommended Charlie for the Stones." Wasn't there

The "Rolling Stones" is a brand, a company, built for perpetual business. While Mick and Keith are still alive and able they will carry on the Stones flag in my opinion. Not saying I agree or disagree with it but I believe that is the course.

He shared: "I called him immediately after I found out, he answered straight away, I said, 'I'm sorry.' We both knew it was going to happen, but Ronnie said, 'We knew it was going to happen but it doesn't matter how much you prepare for it, you're never prepared.'" Interesting comments from Kenny Jones.

Deep tracks has been turned into Rolling Stones radio until the day after Labor Day. They have had a few nice Charlie Watts comments on different songs through the years. The playlist is quite generic but thought everyone should know. I am doing my own Charlie Watts radio by having my vast Stones catalog play on random through my laptop through out the house speakers.

I think it is almost a certainty the tour will be cancelled/postponed. At this point of their careers I do not think the Stones will want to take the negative heat for carrying on if this Delta variant keeps raging.

I like everyone here, just want Charlie to be well and life his best life. That is my first and foremost thought on the tour. Covid in the USA. It is hard to imagine this tour will actually take place. The Delta variant is wreaking havoc in many states. I suspect the concert industry will grind to halt in the next few weeks unless the Covid numbers dramatically improve along with vaccination n

I have boycotted anything to do with the "sort of, not really rock and roll HOF" I get to Cleveland at least once a year on business but always decline any sort of overture to go there. My beef is overlooking seminole bands of the 60's like Paul Revere and the Raiders and Hermans Hermits (and others). No, they are not the Stones or Led Zep but these type of bands invented the

The R n R Hall of Fame is an embarrassment. I like how the word "diverse" was prominent in the first paragraph, but not "they could rock the house down". Just sad. Glad I have avoided giving this shithole a penny on my Cleveland trips. They have jumped the shark and are basically irrelevant other than in name and licensing crap.

This is an old story/battle brought out every couple of years. I am a big LS fan and quite honestly prefer 1977 Oakland to the Knebworth show, not by much though. I am a bigger Stones fan and really was digging the Around and Around plus Wild Horses video in this thread. That being said. The Stones awesome set list and just being the Rolling @#$%& Stones puts them on top. Plus, this clas

I first saw the film in 1976 0r 1977 as a young teenager. We saw it at The Uptown Theater in Milwaukee, WI. I was ultra disappointed in the sound at the time. I am positive that this theater was not using a quad sound system as the movie was already 3-4 years old and I believe Quad was already yesterdays news. I suspect that you are onto something. Seems to be the great mystery of Stones lore
