QuoteMathijs Quotepinkfloydthebarber open E (keith) on studio version. absolutely . not hard to play either once you learn the fingering live in '72 he plays it in open G capoed at 4th; all that is missing here is the top root note although the open E mighta been really open D capoed on 2nd. (same thing as open E just easier on strings) GS was standard tuning in 1972, not open G.

keith probly played bass on days when wyman was busy running after groupies i've always like keiths bass on silver train, sympathy and soul survivor keith is a good player, but sorry, not as good as wyman; case in point - keiths bass on the studio 'jjf' is good, but nowhere near as good as wyman's live versions in '69 (IMO) ditto for live with me but could kei

Ok this probably has been done to death, but i didn't see it if it has, so what about this track? Like it? Hate it? I like it. I like the picked acoustics. And Jag's lyrics are funny. I read them as a send up of early British historical snobbery between classes - and sending up the upper class, not the lower.

QuoteMathijs QuoteHis Majesty QuoteMathijs QuoteHis Majesty It's not as good as this. No vocal or guitar overdubs either. >< Don't know the details for this album... Mathijs You could just have stopped there. In Uncut from 2011 Eddie Kramwer stated he had to fix the bass as it was out of tune. As historic as it is, the gig isn't Hendrix' best by far

a good buddy, a younger guy, a hockey mate, of mine is a drummer, a good one, but more into the heavier stuff.. and the stones you know are off his radar kind of thing.. so he'd never listened to charlie, really so i made him listen to some live stones stuff, 72 stuff and whatnot, and he came back with not only 'jesus the stones were great then' and 'not what i expected

Quotesvt22 QuoteDandelionPowderman That little instrumental bridge in MR, where Keith is playing and Taylor is answering, features some of the finest playing ever, imo. Where exactly? not in little queenie, thats for sure, good as it is but in rambler, yes, there certainly is some stellar interplay, call and response.
