I really like The War on Drugs. Not sure if I’m digging the new one they just put out though.

Thanks BowieStone (Great name BTW! I’ve read many of your posts here). I get what ‘Tatters’ says about the ‘flow’ (or lack thereof)…Some other good comments too. I did a search, but didn’t come up with that thread. Still, any negatives aside, it’s still a ‘Must See’ IMO.

Happened to see it on a plane, but it’s on Hulu. Guessing many of you here have heard of this….filmed in Harlem in 1969, and then all this incredible footage just sat there all these years. ‘Until now.’ Naturally the big stars deliver - Stevie Wonder (I didn’t know he’s also a great drummer!), Sly and the Family Stone of course mow the crowd down….but it’s acts you might not expect that are al

I like the GA at the back. Sound is very good, and you have room to move around and dance. Yes, you’re mostly watching the screens, and not good if you need to sit at times, but I’ve done it twice (Foxboro 2 years ago & Charlotte a few weeks ago) and had a blast both times. And a ‘bargain’ compared to the seats.

I've seen initial reports of both NY and London and sadly, they're underwhelming. Basically, it's a brick and mortar version of the online shop - with a few goodies thrown in and some events to be scheduled (a couple already in the cards, but nothing too impressive). If you're in the area, sure - stop in and take a look. I was thinking of making the trek from Boston to NY t

Just gave a listen to most of the Wembley live in my car (bought on iTunes). It’s a good show, BUT yeah - the sound is ‘off’ IMO. It’s not ‘muddy’, but it’s just not ‘bright’ enough is the best way I can describe it. It’s almost like I wish there was a switch I could hit to give it a boost on the treble or something. It might be the 1st time I’ve heard Chantilly Lace (I don’t think they did

QuoteKennedy If you are planning to spend a couple extra days in Austin, these 2 food spots are a MUST: 2. Salt Lick BBQ. It's a ways out of town, so you may want to carpool with the group. It's got a great outdoor area with lots of seating and entertainment if there is a wait, which is likely. Very important to note that it is BYOB, so pack a cooler. They have a family style

Quotegeorgemcdonnell314 Freddy Mercury was a great frontman. Like him or not. Yes, Freddie was a great frontman. But I guarantee you, when he was 10 years old, like the rest of us, he was singing into his hairbrush in front of the mirror, pretending he was Mick Jagger.

QuoteTKinOH QuoteDEmerson The Pink Floyd Exhibit is in Hollywood and worth seeing. I’ll (again) second the Pink Floyd exhibit for those of you going to the LA shows. At the Vogue on Hollywood Blvd. I went a couple weeks ago and it’s really cool! You can buy timed Tix in advance. Plan to spend at least an hour and a half. A must see if you’re a Floyd fan and in town. And, up the road a 10-

I went to Charlotte the other night (my 40th RS show) and I agree that they are playing with a vengeance. They were on fire all night - to these ears anyway. We were in the GA at the rear of the field - had a blast. Not ideal for views of the band, but as to ‘how was Steve Jordan?’ - my reply would be, I almost didn’t notice him. It was just the glorious sound of the Rolling Stones - firing

Did you go with the martini or Jack and Diet Dr Pepper? Good call jmd! I see you've watched tKM. I actually went with a vodka martini - very strong. Perfect. Got the 28 oz. prime rib (which was awesome), and an additional glass of red - all told with the tip, $105 (for just me). Pricey - but not outrageous for an LA place of that caliber, IMO. One thing I will say, the scenes w. Mi

Thank you kindly. With two shows now, in LA for a bit of a stretch and this sounds great! My pleasure MrD. If you're a Floyd fan it's really a must see IMO if you're in LA. Timed tix available - not 'cheap' ($50ish as I recall) but well worth it. It's at the Vogue. Well run - people wearing masks. I spent a bit less than the 2 hours I had planned. Hollyw

I wrote this under a Pink Floyd thread, but figured I'd add it here too: I had the good fortune to make a quick trip to LA over the weekend to see the Pink Floyd Exhibit, Their Mortal Remains. Really terrific - very similar to the Stones Exhibitionism, or David Bowie IS, in size and scope and layout. Lots of very cool stuff - A replica of 'part' of the Wall, complete with some o

Is it just me or does the crowd seem a bit lame? You got to remember who the crowd is - bunch of rich Kraft family and ‘friends’ (business people). Too bad they couldn’t have come up with some way (a contest?) to let some real fans in. I’m 20 miles away, and sort of kicking myself for not making the drive down, but see them next Thursday in Charlotte- can’t wait. Thanks to everyone for th

Planning a (too quick) trip to LA this weekend to see among a few other touristy things, the Pink Floyd exhibit that just opened on Hollywood Blvd. So of course I start scouting out where some of my favorite stars are on the famed Walk of Fame (Bowie’s a must see for me) and I am kind of shocked - The Rolling Stones do NOT have a star! The Beatles do, as do many other recording artists, but r
