Quotecrumbling_mice Agreed. I've always sai this since tattoo you. Their days of producing cuting edge rock and roll are over, long over. So it makes perfect sense to go back to what they excel at. Stripped gave us a short insight into what they can do in this area and they still have the ability to produce great country and acoustic blues. Two guitars, keith and mick on vocals, charlie (

I agree with anyone who said that no band will be what the Stones are.

This thread should not be taken seriously. Have fun and let your imaginations roll. I almost wish they would do an all acoustic blues and country album. I think that could be cool. Never really thought about it before. Wonder why they never did one. What do you think?

These guys, The Glimmer Twins, played the songs great. "Mick and Keith" did the early 70's thing good. We had a fun time. If you get a chance, check them out.

If I met any Stone. I would like to think that I'd keep my cool and it would go like this. Me(encountering Stone): "Hey, thanks for all the music." Stone: "Ah, pleasures all mine." To themselves, hmm... this cat seems cool. "Hey man, wanna go rock n' roll?" Me: "Ummm, yeah. Sounds like fun." Inside I'm like, OMG OMG!!! Then we w

I'd kill for just the band, a pianist and a sax player. At this point, I'd take anything(Vegas-style). I just want to see them one more time.

QuoteKoen QuoteMingSubu I might be going,to see, a Stones tribute tonight. It is a free show What's the name of the band? I have no clue. I'm in Pittsburgh and they have free shows at Hartwood Acres, during the summer. The ad/flyer only said Rolling Stones tribute band. I'll do a quick search and see if anything comes up.

I might be going,to see, a Stones tribute tonight. It is a free show. So if the rain holds off, I'm going. It could be interesting. Who here has seen a Stones tribute band? How were they? Edit: My mistake. It is at the Rivers Casino. I don't think it is free either. I got the ads mixed up. It is the Glimmer Twins.

The Stones catalogue is like a roladex, for me. I have my handful have songs that are close to my heart. Then maybe I'll experience something that makes me think of a Stones song, or vice-versa. That tune will be a fav for a while and so on. While that memory is still fresh. Think breakup, new love interest, fight, etc.

I only have one Stones bootleg*. Where to start? I like all 3 eras of the Stones. I'd rather dive into Jones and Taylor-era, to start off with. Anyone know of places to find Stones boots in Pittsburgh, Pa? *The only bootleg, of the Stones, I have is a double cd of a 60's Hawaii whow. The announcer states that this is the last gig on this tour.

Great rn'r tune. Everyone knows it. One of the first riffs that you learn on a guitar. On Shine A Light's version, I like how keith rides that open E, for a couple notes. Then nails the first 2 Bs. Correct me if I'm wrong. I think that is what he is playing.

I already have the Singles Collection, Aftermath, BTB, EOMS and 2 Stones tab books with cds. I think the EOMS is almost spot on. The Singles Collection and Aftermath have some mistakes. I like using them as a guide. Then bouncing back and forth, between studio and live versions, I try to figure out the song. Wonder if there is a GHS book out somewhere? What Rolling Stones tab books do yo

Slash - I love GN'R and VR, but I think Slash is very overrated. Izzy was the backbone of GN'R. Clapton - I respect his work. It just does't do anything for me. EVH - Same as Clapton.

Quotestonescrow Less than 7 hrs to go out here on the west coast! Currently watching Shine A Light and just finished my second beer. High anticipation in this household because tonight could determine if there is any future for me as a cheerleader for the Rolling Stones. To stop being a fan because they might not tour? You don't sound like a fan, at all. They've been around 40+ ye

QuoteGravityBoy He said the notes were supposed to be horns in the final version and the guitar fuzz was only temporary. I can hear a horn section doing that, it would have been OK. Thank goodness someone stopped him though. Listen to Otis Redding's version.

Very cool people!!! Keep the recordings coming. I just got some new recording equipment and just waiting for my mic to show up. When I asked what guitar you play, I meant something like this. However, listing what guitars you tend to use, when playing Stones material, is cool too. For Song X I'll play gtr 1 for the intro. Then gtr 2 for the verse. Back to gtr 1 for the chorus. Gtr

Great album! I've been practicing to this album a lot. Recently my warm-up songs are UMT, SG and DBM. I've been jamming on Think for a few years now. Really dig that cut.
