QuoteDoxa QuoteFuman2 Doesn't anybody hear Ronnie's bum notes on Texas '78? They're everywhere. I can hear Ronnie's bum notes everywhere, I can see Jagger's bum everywhere... Honey, it IS a rock and roll show! - Doxa Ha! They sure had a blast that night.

QuoteTumblin_Dice_07 QuoteFuman2 Nope, not trolling for a response. Just adding my impression. Was I really that rude? The quality of the audio/video is excellent. None of my original opinions said different, right? No you weren't rude. The '78 tour isn't everybody's cup of tea. I prefer the Taylor years although I love this dvd. I'm almost surprised that y

Funny. I admit it, I'm a #3, but I also like the BJ era and some RW era stuff.

Quotefilstan QuoteFuman2 Well I have a different take on this show. Terrible. Keith and Charlie were excellent but the rest was just terrible. Don't intend to sound all high and mighty, but when I hear Ronnie play it reminds me of when I was learning to play guitar. The man can't muster a melodic solo anymore. Just about every other note was sharp or flat and watching him he seems to be

Quoterogue Quotepaulm I'm sorry but MT is just not quite right...this kind of playing adds nothing to what sober Ronnie gives, and that is REALLY hard for me to admit. Ok, I like MT and I watched all the clips but I have to agree that Ronnie when he is sober and on target is, perhaps, one of the top five guitar players ever. His work on Can't You Hear Me Knocking on the Licks tour

Mick must be visiting Terry Reid, who I believe lives out that way.

Winston Churchill once said: “If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain.” He never said this.

I can't think of one conservative value expressed in Lennon's music. Not one. Anybody? Just Gimme Some Truth. Love to hear a conservative pol cite any line from Imagine. Certain political death.

QuoteGazza The album could have been a lot worse. They could have included Bono's butchery of the lyrics of Blowin' In the Wind which ended the otherwise excellent Slane concert on a low note. Imagine being asked by Bob Dylan to sing onstage with him - and then not only blowing your credibility by NOT knowing the words to possibly his most famous song, but having the absolute shitwitt

This solo isn't nailed, at least not what I hear. Not by a long shot.

Funny. You compare Gimme Shelter lyrics to early Beatle lyrics. I have heard so many lame Jagger lyrics, even in recent material, to consider this a serious discussion.

Me too. I recorded the 2005 SMiLE performance at The Greek Theater in Berkeley. I would upload it to HC, but I was recently banned for breaking the rules (?). No idea what I did, but there is no way that I can find to ask them what I did. Anyway, I was only warm on the SMiLE material until I spent days trying to figure out where the track breaks were, and after a couple of days I was infat

Wow!! Can't wait. Very exciting news !!! I have a few of the fan projects (Purple Chick, Fast Eddie, etc), where they pieced together the session outtakes to fit the sequence provided in Brian's SMiLE release in 2004. To have a studio processed version is icing on the cake.
