No offense to the poster or to Phish fans, but I personally think this version is quite boring...like most of their Stones covers. I heard them do this live once and it was note-perfect but lacked passion. I know what it is about Phish, but they suffer from extreme "whiteness." I don't care much for any of the classic band covers they do.

If Beck is waiting for Rod to send him that $17,000 cheque for recording costs he's gonna be in for a long wait. When it comes to money Rod Stewart is tighter than a fish's arse....except in the case of court-ordered alimony and child support.

Quotecrumbling_mice QuoteGazza I think its more a case of 'director's artistic licence' than anything else....as was the notion that as the Stones hit the stage, Scorsese still didnt know what the first song would be. Pure invention for dramatic effect. I agree Gazza, the thing about him not knowing what they would open with and the fake chaos was cringing...I really did expect m

QuoteGazza QuoteDayokay I taped the channel 4 run of this, and watching it now - saw Winter, Emotional Rescue, and Too Much Blood as potential inclusions for the setlist! In Scorsese's dreams. They were never under consideration. That must have been Chuck Levell's "wishlist" for songs they should try. Winter would hav been a disappointment just the way Moonlight Mile and

Wasn't the first time JJF was played live in the "Rock And Roll Circus" in 1968? Brian played in that.

Quotepgarof Quotebirdie Greatest concert at MSG: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, 12-18-80. Hands down. 35 song set list @ over 3 1/2 hrs. Nothing comes close! How do you know? Have you been to every concert at Madison square gardens since it opened? Surly this is just your opinion! There have been literally hundreds of great concerts over the years at MSG. Quoteleteyer QuoteSam Spade Just pulled this up and was saddened there's no mention of the Rolling Stones concerts at New York City's iconic venue. Insted of being sad, why don't you just add wathever you want to say about the Stones in MSG, is no rocket science. I just updated the Wikipedia page myself, listing the Stones as having played a total of 24 shows there (I hope

Quoterocker1 Quotesirdoug one of my favorite live shows was during the voodoo lounge tour at the spectrum. crystal clear guitars and overall sound there on a beautiful night. just brilliant. You mean Veteran's Stadium, right? The Stones played shows at The Spectrum during the '69, '72 and '75 tours only.

The Spectrum was a great old place. Much smaller than most modern arenas, and it felt more intimate. I saw Springsteen there in October '09 and it was a nostalgic feeling thinking about all the great bands and events that had been there over the years. And sad knowing that would be the last show I would ever see there.

Quotetimbernardis I want to know how people got the $35 tickets. Please elaborate. And Torn and Fried, how did you end up down on the floor and up front on both nights? One other thing, I liked it in the film when the sound would accentuate coming from the musicians who were being filmed, I could hear their parts much more clearly than in a standard mix. plexi I got my $35 tickets t

Sorry, that's my error. I meant to say Ossie Clark, not Ossie Smith. (I think Ossie Smith was a famous baseball player.) I've corrected the mistake on my post.

I was at both the Beacon shows. I had $35 tickets but ended up down in front both nights. (In fact, I can clearly see myself in the audience during a few songs on the DVD). There was a lot of excitement knowing that these shows were being filmed for a movie but as the poster above noted, all of the film equipment and extra crew on hand was somewhat of a distraction...especially on the floor. There is a little screm Mick does near the beginning of the steel guitar solo on "Torn And Frayed" that I just love. It's not very loud and buried in the mix so you need to listen carefully...but it's magical.

Chuch was a great guy. Very friendly and he always seemed to be in a good mood. That's why the band liked him so much. He was also very good to the fans. Always generous at giving away guitar picks, setlists, drumsticks, etc. He is sorely missed.

I contacted the seller on eBay and asked him how his ex-girlfriend came to be in posession of the jumpsuit, and he told me she was living in London in the 80's, and was "partying alot" with Ossie Clark and his friends and Ossie gave the jumpsuit to her as a "gift." (Maybe he owed her money for drugs? Maybe he was just being nice...who knows?) He said Mick brought it back

I know at least some guitars are (or were) stored between tours at the S.I.R. warehouse in NYC where a lot of bands store their touring equipment - under 24-hour security, I might add. I went there once with Chuch Magee right before the "No Security" tour in 1999 and it was amazing seeing all these road cases stacked to the ceiling, each containing a valuable (and often, historic) guita

Parrot Cay is in the Turks and Caicos islands which are flat, so the house "on the mountain" you're thinking about must be the one in Jamaica. And I think all the homes on Parrot Cay are on or opposite the ocean (one of the appealing things about having a home on a privately-developed island). I don't know if the home for sale belongs to Keith or not but it's a beautiful

L'wren Scott is supposedly 6'4" (193 cm) - a full 6 inches (15 cm) taller than Mick - so I can understand why he would want to get lifts built into his shoes. Perhaps those black Nike sneakers he often wears have been altered with some custom inserts.

I saw Keith (and Ronnie) mid-December a the Paul McCartney show in the Apollo Theatre, NYC. He looks tan and pretty healthy as did his wife, Patti. But I do sometimes wonder if Keith is wearing fake bronzer or some kind of makeup when he appears in public. He skin seems to have a sort of unnatural color these days. And his newly white teeth seem to heighten the contrast with his skin tone.

I think they wanted to play Cairo as well as Tel Aviv and Dubai after the Europe leg of the "Bridges To Babylon" tour in 1998, but security concerns and logistical problems scuttled their plans. The closest they came was a (poorly attended) concert in Istanbul.

There are also several other inaccuracies with this story. For one, Keith paid a lot more than the $2500 per month rent quoted here. I read the figure was closer to $22,000 per month - which would be a

Beautiful shots! The house looks so much brighter in color than in the famous Dominique Tarle B&W shots often seen. I can't understand why Keith chose to live in Connecticut rather than the South of France? If I could afford to live anywhere I think this is where I'd be...for the spring and summer anyway. Every time I've seen Blondie Chapin offstage he was more whacked than either Keith or Ronnie, so I don't see him as being the model of reliability either. I personally think it's time for him to go, and let them bring in someone younger and healthier...who's a better singer/guitar player to boot.

I've seen photos of this place and it is beautiful but I wonder why Mick would want to have strangers staying in his house and sleeping in his bedroom for a little extra income? $15,000 is a small amount for someone like him. I've heard they are trying to get them to play Glastonbury in 2013. The festival will not be held in 2012, but if the Stones are touring in 2013 that could work with their schedule...and would be far hipper than playing at the London Olympics as many here have suggested.

I wonder how this guy felt after reading Keith's book? Brian took a bashing from ole Keef in there, and that couldn't have made feel very good about him. Too bad his father wasn't Bill Wyman. More likely he would have taken some more responsibility.

I know the house is on a mountaintop but you might see more of it from below than from the road. I'm sure it's very private and well-secured behind high walls and a gate. Keith built a new house on Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos islands and goes there more than Jamaica these days.
