QuoteDeathgod Quotebitusa2012 Lossy. Lossless. Flac. MP3. Christ, I remember my first bootlegs. THESE are STUNNING quality compared to that crap that I used to buy! And yet, still love. I just don’t get it... this is WONDERFUL quality versus what we used to accept. Burned a CD of ALL these songs today. Played it loud in the car all afternoon. Just LOVELY. Yes, some songs are

Quoteslewan Quotejahisnotdead I sure hope this isn't the result of a hack. I was just thinking about that. I would hate it if it was taking stuff the Stones planned to release, and really would be bummed if any of this spoils the new album. Too bad they live on Mount Olympus, and it's impossible to ask them directly without a complicated fire dance ceremony. what also could this be bu

Quotejahisnotdead There were three tracks that wouldn't burn to CD for me. I put them into Audacity and exported them again, and that fixed the problem for me. You gave me a good idea. I copied the recalcitrant track to a USB stick and then added the file to my iTunes library on a different laptop. It added to my library over there and then replicated without error to my primary laptop,

I've added all tracks to my iTunes app and have found a weird problem. One track "Eliza Upchink" will not copy out to my other devices via iCloud. iTunes has this track flagged as "Removed from icloud." I tried to convert this track to ACC to defeat this but no avail. Anyone else stumble across this first world problem? The effect is that it won't copy to my iPho

Thank you sir! They both offer only minor changes, both in vocalisations from what I can tell and some extended play at the end, which I eagerly accept.

I wrote my review of GHS this past summer, well before the rerelease came out => . After listening to the rerelease, I am persuaded more than ever that Mick deepsixed the more rocking numbers from the Kingston sessions to produce his own softer, lighter rock sound to emulate the music scene going on in 1973. How else to explain the omission of Criss Cross and All the Rage from the record.

Yeah, I complained about this in September... Re: Goats Head Soup Reissue - out September 4 Posted by: plusplusjames () Date: September 11, 2020 03:47 Alright, who's the ARSEHOLE who stole the scream from Dancin' With Mr. D on the 2020 rerelease? Every time I listen to this track, I enjoy the scream at 2:15-2:17, the one that got left over from Ventilator Blues. Now, I listen

A question for the cognoscenti here: Who is the basso profondo singing backup on Can You Hear the Music? He’s really, really deep and low in the mix singing “hear the music” when Jagger sings “can you hear the music” especially near the end of the track. His prominence in the vocals is pretty much the same from the original version to the new remixed one. Is it Billy? A Jamaican studio ext

QuoteJordyLicks96 The new mix of Goats Head Soup, while taking away it's original murkiness at times, provides a much more clear listening experience in accordance to the lead vocals and instruments. I noticed a lot less reverb in the 2020 mix as well. The bonus material is a real treat. While we already know about 'Scarlet' and 'Criss Cross', 'All The Rage' is

QuoteHairball Quoteironbelly I wonder how long will it take on Friday for a flip from 'Even better than I thought it was going to be!' to 'It sucks, a missed opportunity'. Seems many people (mostly old timer fans) already ranked the original studio album fairly low, i.e. a major letdown after Exile, uneven, Angie sucked as a first single, horrible overall sound, Mister D i

QuoteOpenG Mick Taylor's jumpy bouncy bass line is so good on Dancing With Mr.D. His studio work on bass with the stones was very awesome on the songs he played on.Thank you Bill Wyman for not being around during those times. ^^^^^^THIS!

Quotenick1970 Just like to say I enjoyed James Olcott’s article about goats head soup. I’m very much in the camp of finding out about the merits of the album, the arguments and discussion for the album were very well put.i went away and registered to the album... I enjoy 100 years ago, heartbreaker and star star hide your love and silver train as well. Can’t really get Dancing with mr D. Other tr

QuoteTravelinMan QuoteSwayed1967 Quotedcba QuoteSwayed1967 voila – it becomes a classic album opener (Mr. D could’ve been dumped in the bog where he belonged). I think Mr.D works fine as an opener because he heralds perfectly the 'Goats Head Soup' album : a slow, atmospheric, misty, non-flamboyant album. Putting CC at the beginning of Ghs would be quite misleading. You make an in

Quotedoitywoik Quoteplusplusjames This is a joke, right? In case this refers to my post above: rather a bitter remark. No Doitywork, you’re good. I was referring to the post about the 30 tracks, Hit The Wall, and the other song titles. There’s a fair amount of sarcasm in my post, but hopefully no bitterness. I am very fond of new releases. One love.

Based on the absence of Mick Taylor, looks like I do NOT have to fly from New York to catch these shows in Asia and Oz. Drink up Silver Train if you get it and I can't wait to hear the recordings. My 17 year old son is in Paris on a semester abroad program; he came with me to see the band in Philly last June. (Our family loves the Stones and France). Can some kind phan can e-mail me
