They'll load the set with the later pop hits played in lower keys, with Phil singing from a chair and his son on drums. Seems a bit sad. I'd rather see Steve Hackett's Genesis prog show. He plays spot-on versions of older Genesis songs on which he was featured prominently.

Playing bass again throughout Crosseyed Heart. He used to play some pretty good bass parts back in the day.

Quotestickyfingers101 Quoteab Quotebam Quotedoitywoik Quotejbwelda Like McCartney needed Lennon to hold back the maudlin vaudevillian tendencies, Jagger needs Richards to rein in his worst instincts. LOL! I never fully warmed to GHS. I'd say it's an OK album but not a great one. (Today of course we would be happy if they came up with an album of similar quality...) But the outtakes

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteRocky Dijon Again, put it down to speculation only unless mpj200 or Soldatti confirm. The list was: All the Rage, Save Me, Scarlet, Fragile, Tropical Disease, Separate Ways. If this is credible, there are either more outtakes or some alternate versions because there will be at least ten tracks on the Rarities disc. I would imagine THE BRUSSELS AFFAIR with its o

QuoteAquamarine Speaking of the weather, I was there the year after Katrina (the whole festival area had been under about ten feet of water) and the weather was nice, except it started to rain just as Robert Plant was singing When the Levee Breaks--that was a chilling moment. I had the opposite experience. In 2013, it rained for five days straight from first weekend Sunday to second weekend Thu

Fest is at a horse racing track and features 12 stages spread all over the grounds. The food is excellent (hmmm... crawfish Monica). Check out local acts on the big stages early in the day and in the tents. Forget the VIP scene. Be among the people in the mud and stink and rain. Just prepare for whatever's thrown your way and don't whine. Avoid scuzzy Bourbon Street. See live music at n

As long as there's an archive vault, the chance of them fading away diminishes. Consider that we are closing in on the 50th anniversary of the death of Jimi Hendrix, who had about 3 1/2 years as a frontman and released three studio albums before he died. But the endless stream of archival releases helps keep him in the public eye, even where some of those releases aren't exactly wort

No Python death since forever? He wasn't officially a Python member, but Neil Innes, who died a few weeks ago, was their Chuck Leavell.

No longer any need to bring him a bucket. He just kicked it. The bucket scene in Meaning of Life is one of the most hilariously over the top things I've ever seen. Fond farewell to a comic genius.

They're still in the mix. I like physical products, with cover art, and I can play CDs at home, in the office, and in the car. But I also have use for vinyl and hi-res files at home. I even use mp3s to play in the car and office.

QuoteRam Unfortunately the Allmans. With the deaths of Duane and Barry in 71 & 72, they were never the same band. Not the same, but the Betts-Haynes-Woody ('89-97) and Haynes-Trucks-Oteil ('01-14) lineups were pretty freakin' awesome.

Quite the benevolent datadump. A boatload of streaming shows, etc. More bands should do something like this.

For comparison, musiciansfriend.com sells the Jimmy Page paint job Tele for $1400 and Page mirror Tele for $2500. So $5k sounds a bit steep.

I Keep all my concert ticket stubs in a large plastic box, alligator clipped by year, in chronological order within each year. And for the record: Home printout tickets suck. I try to get old school tickets where I can, even if so getting costs a few bucks in service fees. Don't leave me alone at the chicken farm.

Muddy Waters did a tasty version of I Can't Be Satisfied on Hard Again (1977) when he was a wee lad of 63. That's Johnny Winter on the slide. This version is the last word on tbat song. No others need apply.

Quotenick How did he escape hearing them with you being a Stones fan? It's not as though he were just miraculously cured of deafness. The Stones have been in the air around him his entire life, whether he realizes it or not, through parental exposure. So I wouldn't expect much as far as a new conversion experience.

QuoteWoz I'll wait for the tour...... That Last Waltz tribute that Warren led in New Orleans a few years ago was supposed to be a one-off and was priced accordingly. Then there was a second show, then a tour, and recently another tour. I can't see this lineup putting in all the work for a single show. My guess is that they take it on the road to play sheds for a couple weeks late

The original lineup was the greatest electric band the United States ever produced. Bill Graham called that lineup the finest music he ever heard. The early 90s band was a worthy successor, as was the final lineup. The live recordings of the Brothers and Sisters lineup (the Chuck lineup) don't hold up as well.

QuoteHis Majesty Here's how 'King Crimson' have handled the copyright protection issue. If only ABKCO/Stones had done similar with the 60's recordings. Amen. At $7-13 per session day (around $90 total), the downloads get a bit expensive. And all the material will be included on their upcoming 1969 complete box. But Crimson put out nine days of session material in

I saw the Allman Brothers Band about 40 times between 1992 and 2014 at various places between Virginia and the Beacon. I don't need to see this. I'd rather reach for a download of an actual ABB show from munckmusic.com.

QuoteVoodooLounge13 Quotetreaclefingers QuoteVoodooLounge13 Well, I guess I'm going to go it alone here with my opinion, because, to me, Undercover is the 2nd weakest album in their entire catalog, behind only TSMR. It's the album I listen to the least out of all of them. I do like Pretty Beat Up, Tie You Up, She Was Hot, and Wanna Hold You, but for me the album stops there. All the
