I'm not going to take side against or for anybody here. I think it's a pitty posters being banned by the minute. But here is the statement I was refering to earlier. Judge for yourself: Quoteswiss I wish I'd seen the original thread/post by Honestman. I guess I wish instead of people being banned straight away, that individual threads would be taken down. I do not wish to start

You are right, Nicos. I was misinformed then. Mea Culpa!

I think I have a clue about this. Look at the "Where did Honestman go"-thread at page two. I think she went a bit too far defending Honestman and Deltics. Have a look yourself.

Thanks for your input. Colonial is probably right - it's too late to change anything now. We can't turn back time!

Steffiestones: Isn't that really the problem: too many (and too long) breaks. Sir Mick is certainly happy with that, but I'm not sure the others are. As Charlie once said: "Five years of playing and twenty years of hanging about".

...are they solely due to Mr Jagger? Isn't it that, that has "killed" the band artistically? Not playing together live for 7 years (between late 82`-89`): was that the "Judas kiss" for the band? (pardon my analogies...). And these 2-4 years of philandering between tours or records: What´s the benefit with that? Why isn't it satisfactory enough to be the leader of the

Can you watch SVT from Norway, Per-Arne? I posted a list of Rolling Stones-films that will be shown on SVT around the new year. Look furher down on the first page.

God Jul och ett Gott Nytt År! Önskar jag alla IORR-forumister! English translation (from Swedish): a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone here on IORR! May there be a new Rolling Stones tour in 2011!

ROPENI: It's a thin line between "tongue in cheek" and sarcasm. And frankly I'm not a bit interested in personal innuendos between different members, however "tounge in cheek" they may be. By the way, I would never "run to the boss" for small matters like this, or almost anything. Surely I would like Honestman to come back, and Deltics too!

OT: When you hear about Holland through American media it's very often about the liberal attitudes towards drugs (marijuana etc) there. USA has 50 states: Why not turn one of them into a "New Holland"? Wouldn't that be a dream for a dope-head?

I discovered Stones in 1980/81 so "Tattoo You" and the following tour made the first impact on me. The first cut tends to be the deepest! On a broader perspective it's of course the 1968-72 era that really defined the group.

Well, it's stupid to comment on this (since it's against the rules). But I'll have a go: It's really a clear cut case; Honestman posted a thread where he wanted members to take a stand against another member on this board. It's simply a stupid thing to do. Just apologize and get over it!

QuoteKleermaker I always thought anarchism is a Russian thing these days. Or a Italian thing, which is about the same Anarchism is a random phenomena in Europe. They do tend to turn-up around big EU-meetings, often dressed in black and, sometimes, with balaclavas. They carry black and red standards with images of Bakunin, Kropotkin and even Marx. They almost destroyed Gothenburg when we had a

He was probably refering to Proudhon (an anarchist) who said "Property is theft". Property means means of production in marxist terminology. Not peronal belongings.

"There should be no such thing as private property" - says the man who owns almost half the world! What strikes me is that in the late sixties he comes across as an intellectual. He has delicate taste in the fine arts, he recites Shelley, reads Bulgakov and likes to discuss political issues. It was Jagger who made me intrested in the likes of Shelley, Keats and Lord Byron. What happened

QuoteStones Tod first of all, guinness isn't a brit beer. secondly, NOBODY ever PREFERRED stouts lukewarm - it was just something that a few pubs used to do (maybe still do)...but in ireland it's available in cold or extra cold. Lots of capitals there... . Of course I know Guinness is Irish, never said it was British. Had it a few time, I like the creamy head on it, it's qui

That must have been in the late sixties when it was fashionable with left-wing views in Western Europe. Nowadays he's conservative (as far as I know). You're right, anarchism (and syndikalism/Trotskism/Marxism) is a pure middle class-thing, at least in these days. It was always been more frequent in Central Europe though. In Sweden we had a very well known syndikalist named Joel Emmanue

I have made the same observation, Kleermaker. Especially the right-wing Americans seems to be very single-minded. You always end up in this (false) dichotomy between "liberals and conservatives" - which is strictly an American discourse, not valid here in Europe.
