I can see a guest spot for Paul at a Stones show. Or Mick does one at one of Paul's. Mick could sing I Wanna Be Your Man. Paul could play bass on the new Stones track he's on. Most realistic scenario I can imagine.

Not one mention of Bill's playing, which was essential to the golden age of the group. The fact that he is not on one cut of Hackney Diamonds says it all. His playing is not essential to the group sound in the least. Never has been, especially like Bill's was. I'm assuming he was a good jazz player. There are a few great quotes by Keith showing that he knew exactly how talented Bil

I didn't see any with Brian but it's great they got over it and included the members who made the band what they are today They almost seemed to be highlighting Bill in a couple shots. Hardly saw Taylor. I'm curious as to what happened, since they obviously omitt

It's been going around in my head for a week. First I heard a Start Me Up similarity. Then a snippet kept repeating. Finally I figured it out. Angry also has a bit of Marvin Gaye's That's the Way Love Is.

Quoteangee QuoteSighunt QuoteFrogSugar Crap magazine... They spent way too much time talking about politics, and that content was pure garbage, there are so many better magazines out there that are deserving of attention. RIP Rolling Stone To clarify something,I partially agree with your assessment. I would certainly agree that Rolling Stone is not near the quality of its early years. I was

Maybe if he's lucky they'll just say he lost his mind when he got old. He is 77. If he was misquoted, misunderstood, maybe, but what he said was really stupid. Is Bono all that deep? Joni Mitchell certainly spoke t

I love when people try to pigeonhole the Stones into being just a rock and roll band. That was only an era. They involved from a blues/r&b cover band into pop artists of the highest caliber. Time and time again they plugged into the current zeitgeist and came out with incredible songs. Elizabethan, Psychedelic, reggae, disco, and all without losing that indefinable Stoneness. Now this will taint his legacy. Rolling Stone was a wonderful magazine for a long, long time. Sure, it faded, but so did all the stars it glorified. The magazine now is geared towards youth, which is what it did in the beginning, you know, us. We WERE the youth. But this is just idiotic. How out of touch do you have to be to not know you were going to get serious blowback? Jann was privileged

Quotebauk77 Quote24FPS Well, there must be something right about Angry. I woke up this morning and the riff is ringing in my ear. It's certainly not the greatest riff to a Stones single ever. But it must be ear candy because it plays over and over in my fevered brain. absolute catchy song! didnt had this feeling for long with the boys :-) Now I'm hearing faint similarities with Star

Only watched the video so far. Was shocked to see Bill represented several times. They must be on better terms professionally. Don't remember seeing Mick T, but then again I've only watched it once. Wouldn't call the song an A side, more of a B-Plus. Could change with repeated listenings, like in the old days. Think the absence of Stu and Brian meant they weren't going all the

It was inevitable, wasn't it? How many Let It Bleed sessions did he show up for? Especially after being less involved with Beggars Banquet. Something happened between Satanic Majesties and BB. He's all over Satanic Majesties, and starts to tail off for BB, and is practically non-existent on Let It Bleed. I've never quite understood why Brian chose this time to lose interest, or

Quotedmay If true, the best line in the story is that Keith Moon frequently babysat for Ringo. One can only imagine considering Moon's reputation and joie de vivre. You mean 'Uncle Ernie?' And I thought Ringo's comment was great. That was one of Charlie's great secrets. You expected a note and it was missing. The effect was part of their sound.

Hello, no Wyman, no groove. Maybe Billy came up with a version of the bass line, but nobody PLAYS it like Wyman. You would think the great Miles Davis bass player would get it right. He never does. They pretend he does, but it's lame. It's true that Miss You didn't last very long as a good stage number for them. They turned it into a rock song when it's not. Probably for th

I finally read where some journalist gets it. Bill Janovitz' Leon Russell biography is really good. He said Wyman played in front of the beat, Charlie behind it. Exactly. That's the wobble encasing Keith. The whole Stones sound.

I loved Hot Rocks more than Hot Rocks. (Although I guess Hot Rocks was a good primer if you were still a bit of a novice.) But More Hot Rocks really got deep into things. And there were a few cuts like Poison Ivy, Money, Fortune Teller, What to Do. (At least I don't they were). It would interest me if I had to replace what I have, but that's the 2002 ABKCO SACDs and they're fan

I got a bad grade on a paper in college concerning Under My Thumb. The teacher was a young, angry feminist. She didn't like that I defended Jagger's character's stance in the song. Once she had him down, but now he was in control.

I listened to the bonus CD on GHS in ATMOS. It certainly made it a much better experience than the original album and mix. I was disappointed when there wasn't an ATMOS bonus CD for the Tattoo You boxset. (Although the vinyl sounded really good). The recent Revolver boxset also did not have an ATMOS CD. I didn't care for the 'new' version remix, or whatever. On the other hand

QuoteMelBelli QuoteLeonidP Once upon a time, they were in a bad place as a band and as a result we got a dud of an album. The End... It’s a testament to the band’s craft and talent that the album is any good at all, under the circumstances! There is always at least one stand out cut, no matter how dreadful the rest of the album. Undercover takes the prize. Only UCOTN has aged well. Worst Ston

I recently had that boxset from my library. There were a few gems in there, The Charlatans, a Moby Grape cut, and some others. Most of it was kind of silly. There are also the well known tracks mixed in by Jefferson Airplane, Santana. I found the names hilarious, The Chocolate Watchband. You can hear a lot of competition to the be the grooviest, the most psychedelic.

I'm trying to imagine a Greatest Hits tour and it's not cutting. Byrne, being the 'artist' he is, would probably rearrange things ala Dylan and piss everybody off. I can't see him going out night after night 'Burnin' Down The House'. It was difficult enough for the Stones to get back on stage after 5 or 6 years. David, and the rest of the group, might b

More power to her. A few years back we thought maybe some Stones records would be broken by U2. At least U2 was in the running. But Swift came out of left field. Every generation should have its pop stars. We were lucky to have so many. We had no idea how rich we were at the time.

It is indeed totally different from what came before it. From black and white to Technicolor. It's a little primitive in parts but without it we wouldn't have had the sublime Let It Bleed.

Of course the date of recording might not be anytime recently... If it's post Wyman, I don't care. I already have San Jose '99, Four Flicks, and the Biggest Bang. The only one I watch now from post Wyman is San Jose.

Quotetreaclefingers QuoteVoodooLounge13 But even though both SACD and SHM are pulled from the same source, the SHM CDs don't have the same sound as the SACD CDs, do they? I thought I'd read on here somewhere once that SACD is the process and SHM is just the quality of the CD plastic itself, or am I wrong about that? Such that, technically, the SACD SHM-CD would then be the definitive
