Quote24FPS He thought Scientology made him better, but the record(ings) shows otherwise. 'She's A Rainbow' is on a whole other level. He did play in lots of bad bands, like Graham Parker, and listen to what he did live in Rockpalast. He always plays the right lick, with good taste and melodic sense, but without loosing the bluesy feeling. What a player, my God! I also feel bad

You wil.l hear from this very soon! Cool to hear! When you do your set, do you follow the actual setlist pattern or do you allow yourselves for some alterations (would be nice to hear Sway or Wild Horses with Tyloresque gu

Quotestupidguy2 Quotestones78 Quotestupidguy2 I had some headphones that had a messed up cord recently, and listening to the Exile re-release, due to the short in the cord, I could only hear the music....and Nicky's piano is upfront and on RIp This Joint, he is amazing. I never knew he could boogie like that. Hey, same thing happened to me with some headphones, I used to listen to a lot of

Quotedandelion1967 Quotegomp Well I guess they turned him down on the final mix of the L&G dvd, which is a shame. His playing on Welcome To New York is great. Definitely can hear him in the mix. Esp. All the Down the Line. Was Stu also playing? Stu plays only in "Sweet Virginia", and what a difference between him and Nicky! Hear this. You still think it's Stu???

Thank you all for your comments! I'm the piano player, and we love this music. Here in Buenos Aires you can see millons of tribute bands, but they do it according to the fashion of making tribute shows. Our act is made first of all of six Stones' fans, we really love this music, as you probably know for my regular comments on Nicky Hopkins' topics! What tribute band will play "

QuoteSleepy City Quotemitchflorida Quotedandelion1967 The guitars are out of tune The Stones were just learning how to play their instruments during that recording session . . give them a break. I guess you find "out of tune" a criticism too... Modern musicians seem obsessed with getting instruments in perfect tune. It's, true, but an out-of-tune guitar, to me, sound a

How is at this time the position of the Stones songs in copyright? I read a note which says that this song will be in public domain: 2012 Love me do (Beatles). 2013, Please please me, She loves you, I want to hold your hand, Come on (Stones) 2014, more Beatles and Stones, The house of rising sun (The Animals),You really got me (The Kinks). 2015, (I can’t get no) Satisfaction (Stones), Y

I think the Stones' performance in the RNRC was great, but not as good as they will play in 1970 and then now. The who's performance is not as good as they can, they will reach their top in 1970 with Live at Leeds. Listen to the two renditions of A quick one, from RNRC and LAL... two different bands! Daltrey in 1970 sings very good, not as 1968...

That's a big trouble. Some say that tape machine doesn't run at the same speed in America and England, but I don't think the Stones or their producers were dumb at that time. I say that because of the 2002 releases, which runs very fast (just listen to Beggars banquet or Let it bleed). What they were looking for when they release a sing? How must it sounds? Of course, the answer

A version of Smile without Carl? Who will sing "Wind chimes"? Forget it, Brian's version is dissapointing in the fact that it will be amazing to hear Smile, but with THOSE voices, not with "anybodys" voices, and Brian as an old man, who lost almost all of the beauty of his voice.

HI Did anybody knows the manufacturer and name of the piano used by Nicky Hopkins in the "One plus One" movie? It looks like a desk, with a bended top. The sound is pretty much like a Fender Rhodes, it's also in the rehearsals of the 1972' tour. Best wishes!

Nicky was THE MAN. As a piano player, he is a guiding light, always playing with the perfect combination between sense, good taste and technical habillity. Here is a thread I did with his isolatre piano in the Madison Square Garden show of 1972. He was in full play at that time, and the band too! Best wishes!

QuoteBraincapers I was listening to Zep's Rock & Roll and Boogie with Stu and enjoyed some lovely piano from Ian and it occured to me that I couldn't off hand think of any Stones tracks that really showed off Stu's talents. Any recommendations? As I'm a piano player, I don't like Stu, but you are right, there is no good piano part in the stones showing what he r

Quotecc I'm hearing 3 keyboards on "Fool to Cry," including the piano--who's on each, and what are they? I guess it's a piano, electric piano, and some kind of synth? Nicky play the acoustic piano, is a right hand solo, the synth is according to Wikipedia a ARP String Ensemble, played also by Nicky. "Just wanna see his face" sound more a Wurly than Rhodes,

I am reading a post of Wyman's basses, but what about the amps? I know in the 60's he uses a Vox, and in the 70's or 80's? I love his sound in the 81 tour, and the sound is always a mixture between pick-ups and amps. Can anybody help me!?
