I've just found this vinyl by chance today at the local Tower records. I don't know if it's pressed from digital or from the analog tapes, but it sounds really good. Much better than the original CD anyway. I find this new vinyl quite bass heavy so it's possible the sound was tweaked somehow... but it doesn't sound like the over-remastered mess that is the TIC reissue.

What a mess... And the camera trying to follow Jagger's moves wasn't a very good idea, I got sea sick before the end of the video!

Mick Jagger’s solo albums to be reissued on half-speed mastered vinyl (from superdeluxeedition.com) Interesting that Wandering Spirit is reissued on a double LP as its 14 tracks were stacked on a single LP on the first release.

The thing with ABB is it's their last studio album of original material. So even if it's too long, doesn't sound good and has a lot of uninspired songs or lyrics, it remains (at least until now) their last album. So when I want to listen to later days Stones I plug into ABB. And actually the raw energy compensates for a lot of not so good songs.

It doesn't sound so different from what he's doing with Promise of the real. Not sure I would identify the song as a NY & Crazy Horse song on first listen if it wasn't labelled as it.

QuoteHenrikBB If it is the Eagle Rock Entertainment-release we are talking about, it is official ! ERELP 815/1-2 was released 2010 as double vinyl, and was for 6 years the only official release of the soundtrack, - the CD came in 2017 Is that this one you're talking about?

I compared Bridges to Bremen to San José. I would say B2Br has a narrower mix and a more compressed dynamic range. I think that's the reason why I was hearing an almost mono sound. Also the guitars on B2Br are mixed more upfront but on San Jose the mix being more open you can hear quite clearly each instrument. Well glad to have both anyway as both releases feature excellent concerts.

I've been listening to this concert on vinyl quite a lot. I think I prefer it to the San Jose release for the energy and the choice of songs. To me it sounds almost like a mono recording. Is it the way it's mixed or is it actually a mono recording ?

QuoteGivenToFly15 QuotekowalskiThat's exactly what's happening with recorded music : even if they don't have the masters anymore, record companies can still issue CD's (or digital download) from copies of copies. That's not the problem here: of course you can always issue digital versions... The argument is discussed in the article linked above. Anyway it seems the s
