How is it that Taylorites assume that someone who doesn't particularly enjoy his playing is somehow less aware of aspects of musicianship like taste and feel and band dynamics, etc? The level of snobbery concerning Taylor worshipers is sad and hilarious. I prefer Ronnie's tone. I much prefer the band dynamic with Ronnie. I definitely prefer Ronnie's taste as a guitarist to Taylo

Taylor is wildly overrated, as are his supposed contributions to the band. I think the Stones would have been every bit as brilliant from '69-'74 with Ronnie in the band as they were with Taylor. That said, I'm looking forward to hearing how they work Taylor into songs other than Rambler. It could be a catastrophic mess on any number of levels. I do hope that it goes well,

Good to see people at IORR still think they know what Jagger is thinking. Sure, sure, you understand him- You're just like him. The "contemporary lineup" is somehow afraid of how good they sound with Taylor? And that's why he will be playing either 3 songs or for the entire show? That is the funniest thing I've heard in a long, long, while. Taylor is lucky to b

Wow. The delusions on this board are just....sad. Taylor quit nearly 40 years ago, Wyman 20. The core band is Mick, Keith, Charlie and Ronnie with Darryl and Chuck. Sorry to ruin any dreams with the obvious truth.

I assumed the prices needed to be this high to offset the cost of feeding Taylor.

If Taylor is involved in more than two songs, I'll be sitting this one out. His megalomaniacal noodling bugs the crap out of me. His playing in Rambler 2012 was a friggin joke. The best time that song was performed last year was when MT stayed home. I've never, ever, ever, understood the MT worship. The guy was a nifty little cog in a machine that was well oiled well before he arrive

It is vitally important that the words of 71 Tele are taken as gospel, because he is a fan of the Rolling Stones who has purchased their albums and CDs and he has ALSO seen them play live. On top of all of this, he posts a lot here at IORR. These shining accomplishments make his opinions infallible. And, when he questions the motives of Mick Jagger, who is, after all, merely the lead singe

Personally, I am grateful to be of the firm belief that Mick Taylor's contribution to the Stones, and his guitar playing in general, have been vastly overrated in certain quarters. Also, I'm super excited for all of the guests during the PPV. I suppose the reason for this is because I'm not a member of the Rolling Stones, I'm simply a fan. Therefore, I really have nothing t

"Anyone who thinks playing music in a band is work, has never done REAL WORK." That statement is moronic on any number of levels. In fact, it's kind of astoundingly idiotic.

Wait...so the people critiquing the set-lists and the band's appearance/performance based on short clips of the show are the ones who are more in touch with their actual feelings about the band? Idiotic. You need to brush up on your Psych 101.

ROPENI, I was merely pointing out how negative and idiotic your comments were. I wasn't claiming the crowd was incredibly boisterous or sitting on their hands. The reason I didn't make those claims is because I don't know how the crowd was. Either do you, but you insist on putting a negative spin on everything because....who knows? Maybe you're just unable to deal with your fe

"the audience according to some of the videos posted were pretty quiet" What does that even mean? In what world do short audio clips denote audience involvement? Man...some people will find negativity anywhere.

The important thing is to make definitive assessments based on a 30 second clip.

Wow. Seems like a great show and a wonderful set list. Wyman and Taylor onstage with the Rolling Stones. And still....the whiners persist. I'm sure the band is desperately sorry that Wyman and Taylor's appearances weren't exactly how some people had envisioned it in their sad, little, minds. (Loving the gorilla cloak.) Thank you, Rolling Stones, for a fantastic 2012.

Why apologize for your opinion? You do realize that it's a subjective thing to have an opinion about- the Stones playing it safe. I mean, define "safe". Whatever you say, that is YOUR definition, and you are welcome to it. In my opinion, your opinion is kind of a sad one to have during this exciting time. But, that doesn't mean I'm correct.

Taylor quit the Stones. Idiotic move. From his standpoint, I mean. I don't even like his playing all that much. It would be difficult for me to care less about whether or not he joins the Stones onstage this year. While I agree he did some fabulous work with the Stones, I attribute that more to the band than I do to Taylor. But, maybe that's because I'm a Stones fan.

Hey, do me a favor; define "passion". And, how can you spot it? Does it exist in the same way for every artist, or is it in the eyes and ears of the beholder? Or, is it some of both? Just wondering. So many whiners here seem to have these definitive definitions for such slippery, complicated concepts.

Great Cobain list. Thanks for posting. As great as Nevermind is, and it is great, In Utero remains my favorite Nirvana cd. It is an uncompromisingly brilliant follow-up to a massively influential album. To say that Nirvana lacked musical depth is simply an idiotic opinion. To say that Cobain, had he lived past the age of 27, wouldn't have "grown" as an artist is ignorance mas

Um....that's not the way it works. And, as a certain "party" has recently learned the hard way, there is a price to pay for believing in a simplified, skewed, version of reality.

I am very angry because the Rolling Stones are different than I want them to be and have been for some time. Regardless of this fact, I will continue to frequent IORR and other sites devoted to the Rolling Stones. On these sites, I will voice my displeasure with the band. I will do this at alarmingly regular intervals.

Thanks to bv for all of his hard work. It must be incredibly frustrating at times to create an environment like this and see it populated by whiners and people who stopped liking the band anywhere between 40 years ago and right now. There is a vast expanse between valid, artistic, criticism and the incredibly pathetic whining that goes on so often here. The Stones are active again and most

I really don't understand why anyone who doesn't like the Stones post-'73 would still follow, or comment on, what the band is doing in 2012. Seems like a colossal waste of time.
