In a way, it may have been a selfless act, on the part of Charlie AND the band. Charlie clearly wanted the show to go on, mainly for the crew and fans, I think. The Stones should use this pain as motivation do give us some great shows. I UNDERSTAND why they weren't present. They will honor Charlie when the tour is over.

Let's make a few assumptions. If Charlie was terminally ill and KNEW it, he may have said he wanted to tour to go on. He wanted it to go on for the crew , who need the income, the cities who need the tourist dollars and for the fans. We desperately need a Stones show, some fun. He may have blessed the tour for the band. Get out there, stay busy, do what you do best. Charlie asked Steve

I'm gutted. Condolences to his friends and family. Condolences to the band. I'm just crushed. I'll never see the Rolling Stones perform live, ever again.

While it's interesting to hear these tracks "finished," there's a reason these tracks don't make it to albums on its initial release. They just aren't that good as Stones songs. For other artists they may be standout tracks. I've played it several times and it just hasn't grabbed me. Fiji Jim should have been the first track released, IMO.

The band doesn't owe us ANYTHING. If Charlie, at 80 years old, wants to sit out a few shows? Please, Charlie, take care of yourself. Steve Jordan is a great drummer. He has a shorthand with Keith as well. SJ reveres the band, the songs and the opportunity. The Rolling Stones get to decide what to call the band. We, as concert goers get to decide whether or not we want to spend the $$ on tic

First of all, I hope Charlie feels better, soon. Secondly, I'm a big fan of Steve Jordan. I'm excited to see what he can bring to a Stones performance. As far as all this gatekeeping goes as to what or who isn't the "real" Rolling Stones? I'll leave that to the Rolling Stones to decide. I'll decide if I like it or not. Kudos to the band for keeping the

I don't know if this Thorogood guy meant to kill him. I remember reading that Thorogood was admiring Brian's girlfriend. They gave him the idea that maybe the GF would let Thorogood have some fun with her. Turns out they both were teasing him. I think Thorogood MIGHT have held Brian under the water out of frustration. Brian, in his weakened condition just drowned.

No Buffalo, bummer. Maybe Detroit. I'll see if I can transfer my seats to that...other than that nothing close or that I'm willing to risk travelling to. Despite being vaxxed...

Exciting! 1981 was when I became a die hard fanatic. Start Me Up was huge on the radio and in the clubs. I defied my parents and snuck across the border, into Buffalo for my first show. I bought my first bootleg of the 81 Hampton Show in Toronto. Start Me Up is my favorite Stones riff. Keith mentioned that there is a 20 minute version of the band, locked on that riff. I'd kill to hear i

Quotedcba RIP the guy and blah-blah-blah but... ...you gotta understand Keith's disarray regarding the state of American Black music : he fed on Muddy, Jimmy Reed, Robert Johnson, the pre-war jazz (Duke and the "A-Train"), the Meters, Don Covay, Bobby Womack... Then came dudes who'd abuse vinyls and turntables (scratch!), fart with their mouth and talk about guns and bit

I quite enjoyed Shine A Light. She Was Hot was fun. I didn't notice any scenes where Keith's playing didn't match up to the music. I'll have to look for it.

Quoteironbelly Quotepadre69 Just bought the RSD Rain Fall Down -Copacabana single. Sounds like it’s ripped from a vhs video. I’ve read all the IORR reviews, but didn’t expect it really to sound THIS bad. Did you actually open and play that single? This is a crime against collector's community! This is a sin! You should go to church this Sunday. And send 10 dollars to the Church of the Sa

Quotefrankotero Thank you dennycranium, I was second guessing myself a little since my hearing has suffered around 50 years of loud Rock And Roll. Oddly I can still make out some nuances here and there with constant ringing in the ears. Anyhow, want to say again no offense to people that are satisfied with the discs. Rock on! No worries!
