Long gone, but not forgotten. Keith wrote about him on a Rolling Stone article some years ago:

Quoteblivet QuoteCristiano Radtke Quoteshattered This may be very strange to some, but I would smell the inside of the sleeve before sliding out the record for the first time. I have this strange habit, too. Same here. Thanks for reminding me of something I'd forgotten all about. LP vinyl did have its own distinctive aroma. There's a blog I read sometimes whose owner mentions occas

Quoteab In Levon's autobiography, he claims that Robbie wanted to cut Muddy Waters from The Last Waltz to make room for Neil F-ing Diamond. Levon threatened to not play if Muddy was cut. I also read this. In fact, The Last Waltz is one of my favourite musical films, and after reading Levon's autobiography I couldn't understand how they managed to make an excellent concert (at le

QuoteRobberBride QuoteCristiano Radtke The first time I heard a Stones song from their 60's albums was on a AM radio station, and it was so difficult for me to get the vinyls at the time. It was a long time until I realized what was the song I heard. But what track was it, man?? Don´t leave us hanging! Hahaha, it was just Walking the Dog, and I had never heard until that moment. I ju

I know this has been discussed on this and other threads like this one before, but the video posted by Deltics is long gone, so I'm posting a YouTube link that's working, for those (like me) who didn't saw this footage:

Quoteshawnriffhard1 Pretty sure this is the Who's Last tour, 1982 (sponsored by Schlitz beer-God awful piss). JFK Stadium Philadelphia. You're right. The description of the photograph says "Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger and The Clash's Mick Jones hang out together backstage at a concert by The Who". It was taken ca. September 1982, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA b

I just found this one, of Mick with Mick Jones, via Corbis images. On "The Future is Unwritten" documentary, Joe Strummer talks about how the Stones music changed his life, or something like that.

Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood has pledged his support to a fund launched in memory of a five-year-old boy killed in a driveway accident. Harry Patterson was hit by the family car when it slipped down the drive at their Swansea Valley home in 2011. Parents Christian and Michelle set up Harry's Fund in 2012 and have just held a "national odd socks day of adventure" or &q

I was there last year in november, and I spent some time to look up at the vinyl stores, mostly of them at Berwick St. There's also a little but nice shop next to the Abbey Road studios that has the best prices and some OK records. And here's a top 10 list of London record shops:
