A few weeks into the tour, not counting Live Earth, it's at over half a million for 21 shows. 18 more this leg with 1, possibly 2 legs to follow. I think they can sell 2 million if they haven't already though I think the hype has died down a bit.

I don't think the current setlists (going back to 2003) are because they are interested in revisiting their thrash roots so much as because in 2003, their collective back catalog outsold St Anger 2:1, officially designating them as a nostalgia act.

So far Beastie Boys my favorite musically and Shakira visually. I am visiting my mom's and have the place all to myself so I have it blasting at near concert volume.

In the U.S. at least when the Police tour ends in the Fall (or next year) I wouldn't be surprised if they sell more units (tickets) than the Stones. They sold 90,000 here in LA in the same week which I don't think any band has pulled off in about ten years.

I am at the family homestead with cable TV this weekend. Turned it on to Sundance last night where it already started in Sydney and promptly fell asleep. I woke up to Shakira. Felt the Greenhouse Effect in my shorts watching that. Genesis was okay. I bet they are on a planet thrashing private jet to Manchester after selflessly doing their part to save the rest of us. Snoop was pretty good

The first 4 albums are some of the greatest music ever laid down in all of human history. From the Black Album forward, not so good. At least they have a decent setlist this tour so it should be a good show.

Copying and mailing gets to be a bit of chore after a while. Anymore I like hearing the thoughts when I post a rare show that someone was at, usually the more obscure the more fulfilling it is. I used to trade an awful lot but no matter how picky and restrictive I would be, I would still get more than I could ever listen to. Now with the last postage increase I don't want to mail anything

The mix is almost never right during the first song. Therefore I think SMU, YGMR or RJ are perfect openers.

Whatever one has the stage and pyro. I didn't like it enough to buy it though. I spent $6 on a bootleg T shirt down the street from the Hollywood Bowl and that was it.

Alice Cooper/Hanoi Rocks/Stooges what an amazing lineup, especially seeing all 3 back to back. Saw the Backyard Babies in 1999 which was pretty good. I would bet a lot of the more local bands I have never heard of would end up being really good too.

I was there. It was the days before I could read setlists on the internet and Rocks Off, Heartbreaker and Monkey Man totally blew me away! Both Red Hot Chili Peppers sets are on Dime now.

There are lots of good new bands out there. The only thing is you can't wait for radio to spoon feed it to you, you have to make some effort to find them. I was lazy for a few years with my favorite bands and all their bootlegs but my New Year resolution was to listen to more new music. The gigs can be even more satisfying because you don't spend as much money, get closer to the stage a

LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS. The Hangmen totally killed on Saturday. Seen them a few times over the years when I was seeing other bands and they were always good but then I would forget about them. Saturday was so amazing though. I think they are my new favorite band.

I haven't heard this particular song yet but the few songs I have heard are absolutely dreadful. I don't own any Poison CDs but they are fun to go see live. I just hope they don't attempt Dead Flowers.
