QuoteVoodooLounge13 QuoteIrix QuoteJfk19562003 Damn, too bad they don’t ship out of Japan. Try a proxy buyer service like e.g. - (recommended by Tower Records). Are there proxy services for all countries? Looking for something exclusive to UK. Those Japanese proxy services are for all countries. They are based in Japan. I do not believe there is something exclusive for UK. Unless, ther

QuoteVoodooLounge13 Damn. Those prices are insane!! Why? These are normal prices from ebay crooks. The initial price (in-store) for the RS No.9 SHM-CD Live Collection was ~$115. The price on ebay is $284. The guy is simply taking advantage due to the fact this was a limited edition. He is in his rights. He spent some time to go to the shop, he invested something, now he is waiting to get some m

QuoteVoodooLounge13 Case in point: Just got notification that this Live Boxset is out of stock, and as such, my order has been cancelled. Those Japanese items go quick, and then the price on the secondary market is insane!! I tried ordering it back when it was announced and I couldn't, and now there's none left. Don't worry. If they start with live albums, you'll get those

QuoteSpud With a decent turntable k and system you certainly can hear the difference between new and well worn stampers...but with 50 & 60 year old records this is just one o many factors which will affect the sound. Some the best sounding old records are those which were looked after and kept clean, but played on primitive old record players with very crude styli. Those styli never got

QuoteGasLightStreet Not exactly off the subject but the Virgin MADE IN THE SHADE songs strangely have a little more life (or oomph) to them than the Virgin albums do, especially Brown Sugar, Tumbling Dice and Doo Doo Doo Doo. Think they were slightly EQed differently than the album masters were or... it's a tad bit hotter? Correct. Made In The Shade 2005 is new tape transfer and masterin

It's Friday, time to fool around. I took several CDs and found on my reserve HDD a copy of a vinyl rip EOMS (Artisan pressing) made by PBTHAL. I choose the track - Rip This Join and made samples. The following CDs were used: 1. Exile On Main Str. CDCBS 450196 2 (Mastered by Greg Calbi) 2. Made In The Shade CDCBS 450201 2 (Mastered by Ted Jansen) 3. Exile On Main Str. Virgin Collector&#

QuoteBitchKeepsBitchin The Stones have become masters of music marketing. How many times have they released these same songs? I have all of these songs on multiple releases so because there is nothing "new" on this I'm taking a pass. I already have Paris Stripped limited edition from another release, this is for the completist. Or a newbie. To tell the truth, I do not understand yo

According to Japanese booklet that was included for Japanese only SHM-CDs (UICY-40031 or UICY-76017) Luxury (as well as Time Waits For No One) was trimmed and Fingerprint File was speed up to fit to LP. The initial master tape was kind of too long (49:12) to fit the LP with reasonable sound quality. Thus, original LP and old CBS CD have Luxury 4:31 and FF 6:37 Virgin CD - Luxury 5:01 and FF 6

OK, here are the answers QuoteNellcote1971 Hoping this doesn't get embarrassing... Listening on my phone I like S2 a lot... dislike S1. QuoteIrix QuoteNellcote1971 I have several Artisan cuts (just love that mastering) but always end up frustrated when I listen to the 2010 remaster on Spotify when I'm on the road. Try the 2011 SACD or the 2013 BluRay with a mobile HiRes-Player (Astell&Kern, FiiO or Cayin). Apples and oranges. Most do not have hi-res equipment in a car or on a train or jogging in the park. QuoteVoodooLounge13 QuoteIrix QuoteVoodooLounge13 So these SHM CD's are not needed then, because they're the same mastering as the SACD's from '02? No, the above linked 2022 Mono SHM-CDs are 2016 remasters. Maybe my word choice is incorrect. It seems - based on other comments - that the '02 versions are mono, which I seem to recall. Oh yeah, these are absolutely worth getting then as they are mono mixes (same mixes used for the in Mono box) whereas the 2002 DSD were all stereo. This is a bit misleading. They should have given this track to a DJ and do not record it at the first place . It is a catchy tune but too far away from what old farts used to. And for the video... Nothing is wrong with the video, but also nothing to do with 'classical' Stones either. Totally in vein with 'Scarlet', 'Criss Cross' and 'Living In The Heart Of Love' videos.
