Green Day may not be some people's cup of tea, but they are hugely popular and these types of performances help introduce the Stones to a new generation of music fans.

CNN used RTJ as bumper music today on the morning show, and even labeled it on screen. They are really marketing this reissue like few I've seen. I hope it does well so they open the archives further.

This track would be great if not for the line that makes me cringe every time: " I got my money, my ticket, all that shit, I even got myself a little shaving kit." To me it's the worst Jagger line ever in a song...

QuoteHairball Keith is too busy playing Disney Pirate, he doesn't have time for the Stones anymore. People do work on other projects during the down time. It's actually very healthy to get away and do something different for a while. The Stones haven't lasted this long by being a full-time band.

I'm a huge Floyd fan, but I never did understand what drove them apart and the deep hate Dave and Roger seemed to have for the next decade and change. I know that Rick Wright had been fired during the recording of The Wall due to a drug problem, and he missed out on The Final Cut. Anyway, it was great to see them get back together for Live 8, but even then Dave turned it down several times b

Quotescottkeef The digital format wasnt available at the time the album was recorded, was it? Thats a new one on me. Brian Wilson (not the Beach Boys) recorded and officially released SMiLE in 2004. The vocals were recorded at Sunset Sound on a 60's tube console like what was originally used for Good Vibrations.

QuoteNedKelly For the record, I just put out the question, i didn't claim it is Ronnie. I just asked if it was possible, since the song in my ears sounds a lot like Ronnie stuff, and the sound in the guitar has the precise Ronnie tone. I jumps out as Taylor to me. I haven't heard that style of playing on a Stones track since 1974. And somebody reported in another thread that Taylor sa

Some people will argue that it's not really a song...what the hell does that mean? It's Exile related and should be on there. I'm hoping against hope that the flexi single will be included as a surprise in the vinyl re-issue, or it will be a hidden track on the bonus disc, but I'd say there's less than a 1% chance of that happening.

Has anyone confirmed which version of ADtL is on the 7" of PMS? It was thought that it would be the album version, but I've heard rumblings to the contrary.

Quoteboogie1969 Cafaro's right, it just doesn't sound like a song from 69-71. It sounds to me like they took a song from that era and tried to modernize it too much. They should have left it alone, except for whatever was necessary to make it a complete song if it wasn't finished. Isn't that exactly what they did...completed an unfinished song. Btw, I have tons of Exile-e

I cannot wait to hear the complete single. Hearing Mick Taylor's guitar in this gives me goosebumps. While some are bitter and only want to complain, I can't help but think how great it is the hear Mick, Keith, Charlie, Bill and Mick T. all together again in this hybrid fashion. Life is short, enjoy it folks. If you're any kind of a Stones fan you understand how big of a treat this

I build my albums in a similar fashion in iTunes. I added those non-exile tracks plus "You've Got the Silver" with Mick on vocals and the non-overdubbed version of "Country Honk". I can't wait for the Exile reissue...

I pre-ordered mine for $87.99 on Amazon a few weeks ago. The prices go up and down during the pre-order period. It's currently working its way back down and has dropped to $119.99 for a high of $189.99. The prices don't normally jump this much, but it may have to do with availability of a limited edition release.

QuoteWinning Ugly VXII Quotemelillo even though bill is not on the cover does he not still get royalties? and if so then why keep him off the cover? The reason is because he's not been in the band since the early '90's. And who knows how many of the songs Wyman actually played on when he was in the band. The other four are on there because they are current members that are on

They are only talking about touching up the outtakes since they are unfinished tracks. Mick has already stated the original album was only remastered (not remixed or overdubbed) in one of the many Exile interviews.

Quote71Tele They should have brought Bill in at at the same time to do bass overdubs! In a different article Mick mentioned the bass and drums were complete on the outtakes, so they didn't need to enhance them. And Wyman was often awol from recording sessions and somebody else would play bass. According to his book, he was often more interested in chasing skirt than recording.
