And indirectly involved in the dark side. In 1969, Terry needed a lift back to his Cielo Drive home in the Hollywood Hills and Dennis Wilson obliged. And we all know who else was in the back seat taking in the scenery as t

- What Mathijs came up with a few years ago: -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Been listening to all 146 outtakes of Citadel, and there’s some hints… From Request and Requires: Take 5 is the first one with mellotron and the ping sound. Take 5e has Richards adjusting the volume of the guitar, and an adjustment to the ping sound

QuoteHis Majesty Quote2000 LYFH When you do do, who do you listen do... Clearly defined bands I've listened to recently are: Funkadelic, Country Joe & The Fish, Quicksilver Messenger Service and Pavement. Not sure if Miles Davis, Muddy Waters, Frank Zappa/The Mother of Invention, The Supremes, Richard & Mimi Farina, Ike & Tina Turner fit. Love Quicksilver - check out

QuoteHis Majesty Best. I'm not even sure what "best" means, but to be best (whatever that means) at anything for 50 years or even "of all Time" is quite a feat! A lot of these bands were many peoples favorites at one time or another. How about a "best of the best" list...

Quotekeefriff99 Quotemuncy23 We can all see by the bands listed in this Thread that America doesn't really make "good bands". That's soooo not true. There are MANY great American bands. If you made lists of the Top 10 American vs. Top 10 British bands, would the British list look more impressive? Probably, but that's only a small part of the story. Because of the

Quotejlowe 'No alarm system at Redlands'. I find that hard to believe. What about all those priceless demo tapes left lying around? Exactly! Let's see - we have a moat and we have a high wall on the driveway and we have a locked garage. And we should have a alarm system. How do they know no one is home and how do they know all these bikes are in the garage to begin with? Maybe a

Quotetimbernardis I remember reading about this probably 45 plus years ago in some kind of fan book on the band or magazine article and it always stuck in my mind. Would also like to know more about it too. Thanks for the pic Cristiano, where'd u get it? plexi It's also in the book "The First Twenty Years" by David Dalton on page 130.

Quotehopkins Quote2000 LYFH I saw Zeppelin in Feb 1975 at MSG and did not throw up well for sure and certain, imo from direct exposure; they were very much a less tight and together act in '75 then their debut tours in the sixties promoting that first LP, and then for some three or four years holding that amazing power pretty consistently. this guy speaks a lot of truth in his rant, b

Quotedaspyknows I used to see these guys in 1979 at a local bar they played at. They played every week, I worked in the shopping center where the club was. Was $1 cover charge, $5 to the bartender for a bottomless Long Island Ice Tea. (Oh yeah we were all underage). They were run, but they were just a club band. Same here. But I think it was around 75/76 I first saw them in a local bar. It

I actually always liked when Page would play a little bit on the rough side, not trying to sound exactly like the records...

Was Hunter a Innocent bystander? Apparently he had a short fuse, was armed and dangerous! Wonder what was going on in the hour or so before his death? Was he being disruptive to those around him? Was he previously known by the Angels? Why did he separate from Patti as the Stones were playing - pictures of him moving toward the stage. Was he on the stage and told to get off and then pushed off?

QuoteDEmerson Nicely said TimmyJ3. And some other interesting comments. I'm sure all of us, of a certain age, as we see our heroes fall (for me, Bowie was, and remains Devastating), we get a sense of 'it's not dark yet, but it's getting there' as Dylan once sang. As good health becomes more important, and likely more time consuming, and realizing we're closer to the

Well let's hear from Ralph... Ralph "Sonny" Barger, chief of the Bay Area Angels, he who had sat with Ken Kesey and Allen Ginsberg in the front row of the Bob Dylan concert in Berkeley, he who had danced to the rock bands at a hundred dances in the Avalon, the Fillmore and California Hall, went on KSAN, San Francisco's underground FM station, the night after the Altamo
