QuoteCristiano Radtke I bumped a thread on the Steve Hoffman forums by posting this article. I signed your petition, shared with some friends, and I wish you all the best, Sighunt! Fans Demand Rolling Stones Release Entire ‘Get Yer Ya-Ya’s Out’ Live Recordings By Rod Brakes  Image credit: Walter Iooss Jr./Getty Images An online petition calls for a box set of the band’s historic

If we could just get more members here to sign we would increase the signatures considerably. Even if you have your doubts it will be successful please go sign the petition as it only takes a few minutes and it would greatly help the cause. Don't get discouraged Sighunt as it takes time to get the word out and people to sign on.

QuoteSighunt Holy shit! I've been trying to contact several music trade magazines about advertising (hopefully, I can find one at reasonable prices), and one gets back to me today and asked me if I want to do a podcast advertising the MSG 69 box proposal! It sounds very appealing, but I'm scared shitless just thinking about it (LOL)! Never done it before but I may have to muster up t

Not trying to be negative but we are only up to 78 signatures so far and with the large membership of IORR I would have expected several hundred signatures by now. Am I being too optimistic or is it just that only a small core of the membership still visits this forum so many active members already signed ? Thoughts?

I am still surprised there has never been a biopic on the band or any of the members other than the Brian Jones "Stoned" Whatever happened to the FX TV series that was floated a few years ago?

Quoteroryfaninva My personal (non) encounter with the man. I was in the small departure lounge in Minneapolis on July 4, 1995, heading back to DC on the redeye. My lady friend and I were the only people there. In walks John Mayall, tan and super fit, long silver hair combed back, wife beater tee shirt and a fringe vest, some kinda leather pouch/mojo bag around his neck, silver turqouise Native

Sad to hear that about John. I used to go see him at least once a year when he would tour here in Massachusetts so I was sad to hear he was semi retiring and only playing select local shows but understood it was his time. I had him sign the debut Klook's Kleek and Beano albums a few years ago at a show in a small tavern here in Mass. He was a real gentleman and always had time for hi

Hard to predict how well these types of things will sell but I never thought the Freddie Mercury biopic would go anywhere and it made Queen relevant again with today's young music fans. My teenage daughters and their friends suddenly became Queen fans at least until they got bored with the music and went back to listening to hip-hop again. I think this will do well and we will be flood

QuoteProfessorWolf Quoteoldschool OT- but 1969 tour related there is a copy of Ethan Russell's massive slip cased "Let It Bleed" book on ebay right now with the current bid just over $100. If you don't already have the book it is a fantastic photo journey of the 1969 tour with great interviews. Be aware the book is big and heavy so it is not one you can hold in your hand to

QuoteChrisM42 Glyn Johns Thanks, I should have known that but drew a blank. So do you know if the ABKCO 69rstrax MSG NYE tapes are audience or SB? Just curious if they were better SQ audience recordings or just lossy versions of the GJ Unmixed SB's

QuoteChrisM42 Here is the original work from the 1990's, and the fundamental read on this topic: I will update soon based on the GJ Unmixed Soundboards. Chris M. Thanks for the info Chris as I thought the MSG 1969 No-Label Day1 & Day2 releases sounded too good to be lossy audience recordings even if they were recorded with a Microphone at the board. If you don't

Having seen the Stones on Ed Sullivan when originally broadcast and having listened to all their pre 1990 albums on vinyl I am a fan of the pre 1989 Stones. They still put on a great concert post 1989 but there albums of that era are underwhelming for me. Live, while I will listen to post 1989 concerts they are a little to slick an Vegas for me do prefer anthing 1982 and older. The 19

QuoteProfessorWolf just have to ask but if mick says ok but thinks that releasing all the msg shows together is to repetitive or something and decides to just release one which show would be best or most preferred? Good question, the tracks on the 40th anniversary YaYa's is pretty much evenly split between the 3 shows. Personally if I could only have one I would want the 11/28

QuoteSighunt I am currently working on a rough draft of a potential petition/letter that I will unveil to this group probably next week as I am on vacation and should have some time to work on it. After that, I will need volunteers from this group to then post it and/or promote it on other Stones fan boards. I may scout around again to see if I can advertise in some (reasonably priced) mu

I understand sigs desire to not make this too complicated by also asking for video in an MSG release and I would support however he want to pitch this to ABKCO and the band. But just as an FYI videojames did post what video he knows is in existence in this thread. Would kill to see any of these videos.

QuoteProfessorWolf or perhaps the footage from detroit 69 as well make a nice little bonus and it's not like they can't afford to buy it True, that would be a nice bonus but based on his history I don't think Mick is paying for anything that won't make him money so not sure there is profit in buying the footage to include in a low volume box set. How many units did th

I am a 1969 tour fanatic so anything official from that tour would be welcome but a boxset of the three MSG concerts properly mixed without overdubs is probably my holy grail along with more of the Maysles video from those shows. If I can get greedy why not throw in the complete Baltimore concert as we know there are mutlitracks for that as well. In any case I would be willing to help dep

QuoteSighunt Quoteoldschool QuoteMathijs Quoteoldschool QuoteMathijs I actually don't think these are soundboards, but audience recording taken from the PA. These recordings were made to capture the audience. Mathijs I was listening to the 11/27 show tonight and don't think it is an audience recording in the strict sense as it is too well-balanced. Possible a stage recording?

QuoteMathijs QuoteSighunt QuoteMathijs QuoteRobertJohnson Great share! Many thanks. Never heard the original MSG in this clear sound. It is evident for me that no overdubbing on Ya Ya's was necessary. They edited some great moments of Mick Taylor and Keith, unfortunately. Well, no not really, they didn't touch the guitars at all except for some minor rhythm guitar of Taylor during Caro

No worries STP, You never know until you listen so maybe someday we will get something new from the 1969 Tour. Amazingly there are still 50 year old uncirculated audience tapes still coming out of fans closets like the Stones Boston 1969 first show tape so miracles do happen. Maybe even the Stones could shock us and collaborate with ABKCO and give us more 1969 pro recorded concerts and mor
