Steel Wheels! I was just 11 years old and I bought on cassette. The only song I've really liked was 'Can't Be Seen'.

Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! Why? It was an important period for the Stones. It was the time they started to play big venues. And their sound became fuller and changed into real rock!

I've got my Deluxe Box! And I love it. Sounds really good. I just have to listen to the disc with BB King and Ike & Tina Turner on it. I've just seen the DVD and it's good to see AND hear Jimi and Mick T. backstage. Really short, but you still can hear them play. Also I've laughed with Charlie and Mick. Good sense of humor. Charlie with his straight face! =LOL= Talk

QuoteKeithNacho Beggars banquet was the end of a pop band, a mixture between old blues music, rock and folk Let it bleed was the beginning of as new era, a new musical direction, a new sound, a new guitar technique and playing (this is Keith's masterpiece in guitar playing, both lead, rythm and slide; do you remember him playing slide after this record?)...........and compositions are gr

QuoteKet QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteKet Their worst album of the 70's by a mile. I listened to it again a few months ago and it does not really improve with age. I love the title song and figerprint file but the rest ranges from ok filler (if you can't rock me and dance little sister) to absolute crap (time waits for no one and til the next goodbye). Just out of curiousity: What do

"Rip This Joint" has always sounded like real throwaway to me. So light-hearted. -As it was made just for fun. Ah, those 70s. Yeah, it was really only rock `n roll from then on

I still can't place this song. It's still fascinating though. Everytime I hear this song, it reminds me of an eerie looking tropical jungle in Jamaica or something. Like that James Bond movie "Live and Let Die". Don't know. LOL It's not a bad song, but not really a Stones song.

Quite interesting... If we compare IORR to other Stones albums, this album gets a lower score. In fact, it wasn't their best work, but there are good tracks on it. When I've heard this album for the first time, I was in love with it! It was because of Time Waits For No One! I've played that song over a million times. Later on I began to love If You Can't Rock Me, Fingerp

I was fascinated by Mick Taylor. The way he changed. The difference how he looks between his Hyde Park performance in 1969 and in this video.

Quote71Tele >> Exile is a real cool album, but it's too diverse and crowded with lesser songs. I have to skip too many songs to get a great vibe.>> Interesting take...we have a schism here between those who love Exile for the whole gritty, grungy mess it is (I am in that group), and those who think it doesn't have enough great songs or (gasp) too many songs. Exile is more

The only time that would happen is, when; Mick Taylor shows up for a guest appearance and they would perform 'Time Waits For No One'! Man, I would cry like a girl from a soap opera and get all emotional and stuff. LOL But again... it would never happen! Never... all of it. =sigh=

Quotenoughties Many think "Exile" is the peak of their career, but at polls, almost nearly as many would say "Sticky Fingers". However, no ravin` about that, in equal measure, at least at this board... My love goes to Sticky Fingers! Exile is a real cool album, but it's too diverse and crowded with lesser songs. I have to skip too many songs to get a great vibe. But

QuoteNICOS Don't be ashamed DiamondDog7 it must be the age............if you grown up before Beggars Banguet it was the ultimated record Hmmm... I think so. It was real difference between Aftermath and for example Out of Our Heads. One time I've tried to listen to all the sixties albums of the Stones. December's Children and Aftermath were my least favorite albums to listen to

I'm colored (brown) and do love the Stones. In my younger years people didn't understand me why I listened to that kind of music. It were high times of New Jack Swing, Vanilla Ice, Michael Jackson, HipHop, MC Hammer etc etc. But I wasn't into that. I was listening to Rewind, More Hot Rocks, Tattoo You in that time. People weren't understanding in that time. I was mocked.

This Keith-track is one of my favorite. More soul and passion than other Keith's songs. I love "Happy" and other stuff, but "Coming Down Again" is more music and less macho BS on stage. Listen to his voice. Just pain and soul, dudes! ;-)

I find it really hard to judge Aftermath. It's a good album, but I just can't be convinced that it's a classic album. The only songs I really dig on this album are; Paint it Black, Under My Thumb. No doubt this album moved the band a lot further. But I just can't listen through the whole album. I just can't...

If we can go back to the reason of breakup between Jack Bruce and Mick Taylor... I've read the bio of Ginger Baker. He mentions that Jack wasn't a pleasant guy to work with. He's dominating the group in an awful way. Always. He did this with the Graham Bond Organization, Cream and I think with the Jack Bruce Band also. That also could've caused the breakup. And yes, the

I really think that Ronnie Wood played much better with the Faces than with the Stones. Why? He was the only guitarplayer in that band and he played so many beautiful stuff like; You Can Make Dance, Tell Everyone, If I'm Late, Cindy Incidentally etc etc etc. I love to hear those songs. Everytime. His playing was very good there. With the Stones it's totally different. It's more

It's easier to find photos of Ron Wood on bass than Mick Taylor. Mick T. only played bass in the studios. So, you'll have to know someone who made photos in those days. ;-) hard job, i think.
