Thanks, Cindy. I will do that. Fortunately the online payment company: (1) called me within 10 minutes of this going down and (2) is giving me my money back. Scary part is not knowing where the security breach happened. Thanks again, swiss

hi -- I'm glad this question was asked. I posted something to the iorr Admin discussion but no one has responded. So I apologize for (a) duplicate posting and (b) posting about an administrative issue here -- but it's pretty potentially serious. --------------- the email I associate with this account is one I very rarely use. Almost no one knows about this email address.

to the administrator(s): the email I associate with this account is one I rarely use. Almost no one knows about this email address. However, I use this same email address for an account of a secure online payment system. They contacted me 1 hour ago saying that my account in their had been hacked and money taken out. Has your database been hacked? The company said that boards like th

Great thread! Thank you so much for asking this. I've wondered the same for years about Pet Sounds. People talk about it being such a seminal album -- and I'm not saying it isn't; I just don't understand. Didn't the Beatles get acetates of this and were all blown away by it, and it was in part what inspired the musical/production direction of Sgt Peppers? I

Quotewith sssoul yeah, there are at least two versions in bootleg circulation - i used to own one that lacked a couple of brief scenes that are in the version i now own. if that makes the version i now own "unexpurgated" ... okay! it's no great shakes either way, though That's probably what I'd heard of. I'm only aware of one version -- what "unexpurgated" version are you referring to? hmmm...I thought the completed film was run by the Stones originally, it had a limited run, got pulled, and subsequent showings and boots were of an edited version. This is only a tiny squib, but what about in Charlie is My Darling...the scene at the end where Mick and Keith are playing piano? Doesn't Mick (I've only seen it twice) start singing the opening feedback and guitar riff of "I Feel Fine"? I remember the first time seeing it and thinking that opening must have seemed as cool to the Stones as to anyone else at that time. -

Very sad to hear, UrbanSteel. It's so hard to say goodbye to our animal friends who give us so much and make our lives better--cats with their beauty, bizarre sense of humor and playfulness, nice soft fur, soulful eyes and purring. I'm sorry for your loss. - swiss

This isn't about Keith on drums but a Keith on percussion. Old boyfriend told me Keith was home listening to tapes of Gimme Shelter one night, got inspired and went back into the studio himself late at night, and recorded the percussion part (the wooden instrument with the ridges you stroke with a stick). Has anyone ever heard that story? I've been wondering for years whether it&#

QuoteFrom4tilLate Cheetah Chrome (fmr lead guitarist of the Dead Boys) is a neighbor of mine and a friend. Back in his junk days he used to hang out with Anita doing the nod. Keith would come visit and was always up for a jam. He recalls a jam where Keith was on drums since no real drummer was around, and, according to Cheetah, Keith was quite terrible on the drums. Tommy Great story! I hope C

Quotebillwebster AutoTune is to singing what photoshopping is to photography. That way, things can be polished and treated until they're unreal, until the rawness is gone, until they are surreal. The Cher song "Believe" that has been mentioned above, came out back in 1998. AutoTune hasn't disappeared since then. It leaves artifacts when not properly applied. On that song, i

Thanks for this post and info Duane in Houston! Quotesdstonesguy The greatness of live music is over outside of the new bands in tiny clubs. Absolutely. Also true for older bands and artists who haven't become so commodified that they can't take risks on stage or in the studio. QuoteZack The subjunctive is a mood, not a tense. Not that you're wrong, but it's much more prevalent in French, her mother tongue, than in English so she hardly needs a lesson. Focking random question! >< The idea of Keith and Mick playing Monopoly is insanely funny. I'd love to see that photo. So, Ron Schneider tells the following story on his website. He doesn't specifically name Keith as a Monopoly playa, but sounds like it was a regular occurrence to pass the time. We traveled the States in a Martin 404 charter plane. This was a two engine c

I think Brian was so far gone if he hadn't died in the swimming pool he would have died within 18 months one way or another. If somehow, miraculously, he "got his shit together," I think he could have done soundtracks and world music recordings. Maybe he would have moved to California and hung out with the filmmakers of the 1070s postmodern American cinema, had kids, grown paunchy,

QuoteSwayStones And as a non native English woman ,I always thought that you must write "If Brian was still alive." SwayStones - more English lessons The use of "were" here is what's known as the subjunctive tense. I don't vemember what that would be in French but I know you use it too. In fact, I bet existentialist writings would use the tense a lot. Yo
