Quotegwen QuoteChrisMQuoteWeLoveYouThat's the fist time I've seen MT with a LP+Bigsby recently. Is it a reissue or vintage? I was wondering that myself. close ups from the 100 Club gig show alot of wear around the headstock and the black bakelite that was on the Bigsby is worn off. It's not the the original 'Keith' burst Mick originally purchased in 1967 but it certainly

Quotetheimposter Quote71Tele QuotePhil Good Ronnie sounded best in the Faces. Damn right...I could never understand why he used such a thin, characterless tone since the 90s. Very weak, imo. That's exactly what I was saying. Listen to, for example, the St. Louis 1997 show. On songs like "All About You" and "Gimme Shelter", you've got Keith's thicker, tougher

Definitely the '75 tone. I remember being seriously disappointed by Ronnie's tone when I saw the Stones in '82, especially compared to the sound of Keith's Telecaster during that era.

The Stones are in there at no. 3 on the Rock-o-Meter rating, which (scientifically) measures comparative rock’n’roll intensity levels: Rock-O-Meter

Quotenkt44 THE WORST EVER!!! Somebody actually did a cover of that recently, if you can believe it. Mind I think it was somebody from BigBrother UK. I like Insane Clown Posse, though. Especially 'Suicide Hotline'. That one sprang to (my) mind immediately...

Some of their mid-60s live stuff had a HM touch to it (e.g. Satisfaction from Got Live if You Want it).

The price label of DM 3,95 (c. €2) adds a nice touch - someone got a good return on their outlay there!

Something tells me that "Taylor vs. Perkins" threads on this board would have been less loaded with controversy than "Taylor vs. Wood" ones...

QuoteDoxa And now when we are into it, a thread about "Stray Cat Blues" is incomplete without the presence of following clip gem - a wonderful, majestic version: - Doxa Great version! The recording runs a bit slow though (SCB comes accross as being in C# as opposed to D), which probably adds to the "majestic" air.

FWIW - the pic is shown in the 1971 chapter of Roy Carr's book. Also, weren't the SG and Bigsby Les Paul both stolen from Nellcôte in 1971?

I've always liked Johnny Winter's version of "Let it Bleed" (almost sounds more Stones-like than the original).

Great band, although I find that about 50% of the tracks on their albums are really excellent and the rest is so-so. They're a cool live act too. I've seen them a couple of times. In 2005, the first half of their act was made up of the (IMO) so-so tracks, but the second half was awesome. I was a bit disappointed when I saw them again this year, as they only played two or three of

Top ten Guitar Albums – I’d say that’s worthy of its own thread. Here’s my suggestion: 1. Get Yer Ya Yas Out 2. Sticky Fingers 3. Black & Blue 4. Let It Bleed 5. Love You Live 6. Exile on Main Street 7. Goat’s Head Soup 8. Beggar’s Banquet 9. IORR 10. Some Girls PS: If we're allowed bootlegs, Brussels and Perth would make the Top Three.
