Mixed feelings. Since 1981 (Hampton vs Still Life) I always liked bootlegs much more then official live albums. At the time of Flashpoint we already had Atlantic City . Then you are listening to Flashpoint with these obvious overdubs? Start Me Up with three guitars? No thank you. On the other hand it has a great atmosphere and the band is on fire.So perhaps it is a great album when you don'

So I hope it's not as boring as he did on Sue, the only new track on his Nothing Has Changed - collection from nov 2014. That's played in a jazzy style with a classical orchestra. Tom

Quoteironbelly I have a stupid question to those who ordered Leeds 82 via. amazon.de I just received my copy of DVD/2CD combo (with huge delay due to post service mess). Everything seems to be OK, but the red sticker on the plastic. You know, the one that states DVD+2CD Set, Features restored footage and remixed audio etc... My copy came with semi-transparent plastic sticker on the digipak

QuoteCristiano Radtke Quoteelectricmud Today it`s not easy to find and it`s not a bargain. Tom I never knew that. This record it's not very hard to find here in Brazil. Overall, it's a great compilation. Well surely you can find it in vinylstores or faires, but not that easy like other so called rarities. Perhaps it was more popular in Brasil? I think it was sold in ti

Remember the time of its release in 1981 , right between ER and TY. Another cheap DECCA release to make some money. Nobody bought it , or just a very few. Today it`s not easy to find and it`s not a bargain. Strange but interesting track order from todays view. I`ll give it a listen. Thanks for bringing it up. Tom

QuoteTate Jazz drummers and rock and roll drummers are, for the most part, like apples and oranges. I could list my favorite heirloom apple varieties, and I would not include any oranges on that list. Including the likes of Buddy Rich on a list with Charlie Watts and Keith Moon, to me, just doesn't make much sense. That said, there are just too many great drummers out there, in both categ

Quotetreaclefingers Quotebarbabang The question is, how was Steels Wheels recorded. I think digitally I'm afraid. If that is the case, could it be that the reslution is 16 bit? In that case an SACD makes no sense. Hope I'm wrong though! I recall it was recorded digitally, at least from the info originally available on the CD. DDD Not sure what that exactly means for the future but

Quotewhitem8 I would imagine this new release is from the original analog masters. Reading the description, that would make sense. I will get it. It is a hobby. And it is fun comparing and contrasting the different versions with a full bowl and a good Claret. Don`t know if I remember correctly: I think they lost the analog masters and they used a mint vinyl copy to make the Bob Ludwig rema

I see this one with mixed emotions... What a joy when Steel Wheels was released! Fresh and powerful. What a wow-effect when Hold On To Your Hat was blasting out of a pa-system at a CBS record release party. Pure happiness seeing Mick and Keith laughing together in the Mixed Emotions video. What a comeback with a recordbreaking tour. So many great memories. Afterwards? SW didn`t stand the test

QuoteDandelionPowderman For a guitar players there is plently to enjoy on both Winning Ugly and Back To Zero. Keith's lovely licks on WU and Keith and Bobby's great weaving on BTZ. The songs are crap, but let's not pretend there isn't anything to enjoy. That`s the way I listen to DW (when I listen). Every song has a nice moment mostly when Mick is not "singing&q

I`m very happy and looking forward to get a soundboard audio and film of the 1982 tour. 1982 were my first Stones gigs. Before the tour started I already got the nearly complete Hampton concert on a record fair. Having this in spring 1982 was quite rare at the time. Till today Hampton is one of my favourite Stones concerts ever. So in a way the biggest surprise of all archive releases was

QuoteKRiffhard Steve Jordan would be the right choice. The oroblem is Don Was. The problem is not Don Was , he is just chosen by the Glimmer Twins. The problem is that Steve Jordan is from the Keith`camp. Never heard Mick saying any positiv things about Steve Jordan. "The drums are too loud. The drums are too high in the mix " and so on.That comes to my mind. Tom
