QuoteIrix QuoteProfessorWolf so is there really any advantage to paying more for the older japanese blu-ray and if so is there somewhere to get it cheaper? He certainly meant that if you already have the old Japanese BluRay, then there's barely no advantage to buy this new 4K re-release. I understand there's no need to upgrade from japanese Blu Ray to Kino Lorber Blu Ray. I cer

QuoteMathijs They have always played it in B live, except for the Stripped versions from 1995 when they played it in C. Mathijs What do you mean with Stripped Versions? The acoustic one they did at the Paradiso? I just had a look at the video and Keith got the capo on the 4th fret as well. But I didn't check with my guitar if it's really in B or not but I doubt He tuned up his guit

In Cardiff 2018 Keiths capo was missing on You Can't Always Get What You Want. Mick started singing in G instead of C and when the whole band joined in they all switched to C (Keith with a new guitar). Later that show for JJF the capo was in the wrong fret. After a few seconds Mick told the band to stop and they restarted with the capo in the right fret. Nice memories....

QuoteGasLightStreet Quotehockenheim95 I think they always played it in B. When Keith gets on stage with a tele with the capo on the 4th fret they may open with Jumping Jack Flash or Street Fighting Man. Yes. As well as a capo on 4 for Tumbling Dice. I think he did here and there for IORR in 1975-76. Dande or a few others I can't remember how to spell might know more about that. I think

Quoteexilestones “5.1 Surround & Lossless 2.0 Audio” +++++++++===== All I could find online about the sound in previous releases is “stereo” and “stereo 2.0.” The japanese Blu Ray got a 5.1 option but it's mainly a bit of crowd noise coming from the back. The music sounds the same as the stereo mix. It sounds a bit flat and I think the sound improves with the New Jersey s

Quoteyearsinthemaking It seems like with the advances in AI technology that in the near future old bootleg recordings such as any 1972 show will be able to be converted to a quality sound equivalent to a soundboard recording. This would not be altering the show but enhance the actual performance to a high quality equal to a genuine release. Is this a realistic thought? It would be. If it woul

Quotegeorgelicks Rewind is a compilation album completely forgotten by anyone under 60. I'm 38 and I grew up with it. I started to listen to Miss You (1st Song) when I was 2 years old. It was my introduction to the Stones. A little later my father bought the Rewind video which was very cool. But honestly, who needs a compilation today? - Hardcore fans don't need it but many wil

QuoteDandelionPowderman timeisonourside.com has June 2025 as the time of overdubs. I don't think Mick's vocals sound like 2025, more like 1980. I would say it sounds like the time of Bridges to Babylon but 80s sounds possible too. I don't think it's from the last years but I would say it's not from the 70s either. Somewhere between Undercover and A Bigger Bang for sure.

I'll never understand how you can rank 2022 over 2017/2018. Jagger sang way better in 2017/18, Ronnie played a lot better and we had Charlie Watts on drums who defined the sound of the Stones. Without him a big portion of that unique sound got lost. But really interesting to hear all those different opinions.

They started a bit stiff and slow in Hamburg 2017 but from Zurich on it was really kicking ass and they stayed on a very high Level until the end of the tour. In 2018 the first show in Dublin was a bit rough too as nearly every opening night since the 70s. But with the First chords of Street Fighting Man in Stratford
