QuoteLien Ronnie is brilliant to work with. He makes a song sound like a record after just one take. I bumped into Ronnie and his wife Sally who I’ve known for years in Prague recently and we talked about putting together a tribute to Chuck Berry. “Ronnie said he was a lifelong fan and that he knew every single Chuck Berry song so he was keen to get involved and it went from there. I expect he

QuoteRollingFreak Ozzy is playing MSG as well. Trying to figure out whether I think that is worth it. Have always wanted to see him and never got around to it. Really wanted to go to the Sabbath farewell but once Bill Ward wasn't involved I lost interest. I would have gone to see the 4 original members, but once that thrill was gone I couldn't bring myself to go. I saw the Sabbath twi

QuoteChris Fountain It would be great to see them release a smash hit that just blows you away the first time you here it such as "Satisfaction" Start Me Up " or even "Rocks Off". Then again, if they create a Goats Head Soup or melodic type album that will be fine too. I just want the music mixed and produced well such as Tattoo You, for example. I do not want

QuoteHairball I read on a Led Zeppelin facebook page of all places, that there's been some debate on whether Bono is lip-synching or not this tour. I remember it was mentioned here last tour that he was doing it minimally on maybe one song, but can anyone shed more light on the current situation? There was a debate that he was lip-synching the opening song on the US part of the current t

Quotegrzegorz67 Quotekeefriff99 Bono never elaborated on that illness he had from 2016 that was potentially life-threatening. I'm sure that took a toll, plus the bike accident from 2014 and the back injury from 2010. All things considered, he's doing pretty well. I think I read he's having daily physiotherapy to get him through the tour. The time must be coming close when he

Quotecorriecas Quotekeefriff99 Adam and Larry are the handsomest rhythm section in rock (not a high bar to set, admittedly). I think Charlie is the coolest drummer in the world. and he dont need facial works like Larry. Jeroen Oh yea, nobody comes close to Charlie. He is an excellent drummer and he is totaly beyond cool. As for Larry - just like anyone else, he doesn't "need"

Oh yeah, Crumbs From Your Table is great. Another one is Yahweh. Even though the Atomic Bom doesn't belong to the best U2 albums, it contains a number of truly great tunes and the album is fun to listen to once in a while.

Quotekeefriffhard4life QuotePalace Revolution 2000 I really love the 'Pop' album. And I don't say that just because there always has to be some wise ass who has to pipe up with "Dirty Work!' or 'Pop'. But a) I thought the production was tight and loud, and the songs at core were strong. I never did get the hate for that album. pop is the last album the band se

QuoteDan Quotegotdablouse Interesting...your relentless defending of the scalpers is very "perplexing" (to say the least) as it's obvious to anyone with a brain or even the tiniest amount of moral sense that reselling tickets for a huge profit with zero added value is just plain wrong. It's a purely parasitic business and the earlier an end is put to it, the better. I pref

From the five shows I saw (Berlin 14, Vienna 14, Amsterdam 17, Stockholm 17 and Prague 18) I would say it is a tie between Berlin (best venue and atmosphere) and Amsterdam (best performance). But all 5 shows were pretty much comparable, all of them were great

I am posting my review together with some pics I made. There are many more pics here: What a glorious return to Prague did The Stones make on the last Wednesday evening. Since they started their probably never-ending-tour in 2012, I never thought they would visit my home country again, with their recent tour patterns and most importantly their current prices, I was sure their gigs in cent

QuoteCristiano Radtke QuoteHairball QuoteRisingStone Back from Hyde Park. I was blown away. I’m sure everybody was. Just spectacular. Yes, the giant screen was there and it was so overwhelming. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. Now I’m glad I made it to this show. Whether you like his political/social views (there were a lot) is another thing — but that’s Roger for you.

Quotegrzegorz67 Well here‘s a confession. I didn’t enjoy this show much at all, even though I enjoyed the rest of my time in Prague. My gig buddy’s on meds and felt unwell the day before so took an extra dose and didn’t get up until noon. My Lucky Dip, picked up at 6, turned out to be general standing, a much longer way from the stage than anywhere else. My gig buddy isn’t the early queueing type
