Would be great but it won’t happen because, dollar for doughnuts, Mick will want to play guitar on it as he wrote the riff, and he likes to come out prancing without a guitar - so I personally think he won’t. Shame as I think if he let Keith do it; it would indeed be a terrific and fresh opener to have in the mixer. Quotetreaclefingers Quoteschwonek Quotempj200 Not amps or guitars yet, b

Hi all My uncle and life long stones fan 'William Byrne' Often just known as 'Will' from Bradford / Leeds - passed away last week at the age of 59. I'm pretty sure he never commented on IORR but was a visitor since its beginning and was the man who introduced me to the forum back in the early 2000's when I was only 14 and I haven't left since. He trave

Cardiff - 3 tickets on the front dancefloor. Glad hes not bothered with the dynamic pricing re: last time - but £163 for a front pitch standing (which isn't like pit for stones - its literally the front half of the football pitch) is still punchy. But god hes good and with the band

QuoteDoxa If they are now starting to sell alcohol, probably that's the explanation why there is no Ronnie's signature... Not that Mick and Keith are that heavy drinkers either nowadays, but no absolutists or recovering alcoholics. - Doxa More likely that Keith and Mick have cut him out of any royalties of the bottle so Ronnie isn’t get a penny hence no signature.

Really interesting to see the different views on this track. For me it was a favourite since the first listen. They can do unashamedly pop/funk tracks given they more than compensate with the rest of their output. Structured perfectly - the funk guitar rhythm is akin to something you might expect Nial Rogers to come out with (not a criticism at all). Chorus has a real catchy hook and the

QuoteThe Worst. Justin Hawkins (from the Darkness, who opened a few shows for the Stones in 2003) goes through the song and chords here: I really have enjoyed discovering Justin Hawkins rides again. A real music nerd in the best possible way. But very affable, likeable and genuine and love his enthusiasm and analysis of songs. Seems like a good guy

Quotemaumau Well, JuniorJackFlash, DeeGee has a point in that I am afraid. if there's a problem with copyright infringement, the leak of an article that lays behind a paywall is not different from a song not yet released to the general public. Maybe a Stones quote come in handy here either way: it's no hanging matter, it's no capital crime Thanks, I politely disagree at t

Posting access will be deleted for anyone who ask for, or offer, illegal distribution of Stones music here on IORR. I don't wanna spoil the party, but isn't copying an article from Rolling Stone or the NYT a copyright infringement too? Copying a link is ok, but copying the whole content

Thanks for the copy of the Rolling Stone article, excited and somehow a bit emotional now to hear and see the full thing, ordered my LP/CD bundle this morning. The last line is interesting: Richards nevertheless looks forward to developing the songs on the road. “Without anybody croaking or breaking a leg in the next year, I wouldn’t be surprised at all ,” he says I'm sure 90% '

QuoteRisingStone Quotespunky From the interview in the NY Times: A tour was put off, delayed by the lag in pressing vinyl and by stadiums already booked for Beyoncé and Taylor Swift tours. But the album got done; it was indeed recorded, though not fully mixed, by Feb. 14. Thought they cancelled this year’s US/Canada tour (June 6 - August 1) due to a member’s injury (presumably Mick’s knee) a

Dependent on you - it’s got a late Bruce ‘letters to you feel’ to the whole thing - a ballad but with a full sound. Lovely show of Micks fantastic range at 80 too. Really good feel to the track. I think for those that say it’s ok on first listen, could be a real grower, especially with the full and proper depth of the sound on the Final Cut. Get close - can’t add anything not written above - s

Quotepadre69 QuoteJuniorjackflash Tyler's voice, at 75, singing in the original key, on some incredibly challenging songs vocally, is, well quite outstanding That seems to come with a price. It annoyed me for a long time when Mick started to sing with less effort since Voodoo tour (or even Steel Wheels?) to save his voice, but he obviously did the right move. Mick’s voice is still in very

Happy Birthday to you for Joe Perry - meant to add before - though I would be a tiny bit disappointed one of my 19 songs was counted as Happy Birthday to You. Equivalent of Mary had a little Lamb - but I'm being pedantic; Tyler's voice, at 75, singing in the original key, on some incredibly challenging songs vocally, is, well quite outstanding

Quite a cool review of the song by Justin Hawkins (lead singer of The Darkness). He has a great ear for finding the note/key so quickly and was cool to see him genuinely loving the song. Below for those who are interested! video:

QuoteGazza Enjoyed the press conference. They were all on good form and seemed happy to be there The single is excellent. The new stuff they put on '40 Licks' and 'Grrr' sounded like what they were. Songs from hastily arranged sessions to pad out a greatest hits record. By contrast, this song is just perfect material as a lead single in the way that no other song (apart
