Quotebuffalo7478 ...I have never been further from a stage at any show I've attended. Easily 200+ meters away but the sound was PERFECT - loud, very clear and well-mixed, with 27 speaker towers and video screens, well-synced so sound and vision were perfect... My first Stones show and, to keep cool, my friend chose a spot well to the back, away from most of the crowd. We relied on vid

QuoteMadMax Never underestimate a good caption.... Quite! As a bit of a science nerd, I started following the Journal of Irreproducible Results (now the Annals of Improbable Research) some years ago. A book was eventually produced, called ‘Sex As A Heap Of Malfunctioning Rubble.’ The title was itself a social experiment, to see if the book with the word ’sex’ in the title would sell better than

QuoteHairball...Buddy Guy and Bonnie Raitt are the first two that come to mind that didn't taint the tune they guested on - they enhanced it and made it something special. They would be the same 2 I think of, at least since 2000. Buddy impressed me so much in SAL that I added Milwaukee to my 2015 tour schedule when I heard he was going to open. Figured they would have him out for Champagn

Quotestonesstein [I dug him on Loving Cup as one of the highlights of the LP. What did he do that so offended you? To me, it came off as nasal, whiney and wildly out of tune. I shudder to think of it.

This is really wonderful! Truly the only Christmas song anyone needs. For years I would wake up to Keith’s version every Christmas morning to set the mood for the day (hey, we’re Stones fans here, what did you expect? ) but this is definitely being shared widely and added to the rotation. Congratulations to you and your mom on an excellent project, CBIi!

Quotemosthigh Quotecrholmstrom More Trivia- Bonnie Raitt opened that show.. who was supposed to before the show was rescheduled? Yes it was too bad that Van didn't get to open in Van, however, we'll never know if he would have sat in with the Stones. I think it was Bonnie Raitt's suggestion to do 'Shine A Light' that night with the boys, so things definitely wor

Because so many of you are fans, I watched the SNL clip before commenting. And he was better than I expected. But not good enough to forgive him for what he did to Loving Cup in Shine A Light.

Charlie is always perfect (go ahead, prove me wrong! ), but some bits that I particularly love...he gets some great kicks in during Thru And Thru, and (this is mostly noticeable live) during the middle bit of Midnight Rambler, when he and Mick get into a back-and-forth and Charlie is practically teasing the lyrics out of Mick, punctuating them...shivers me timbers! Luv luv luv Charlie!

The Futility of Rolling Stone’s Best-Albums List By Sheldon Pearce October 2, 2020 Pieces of a guitar and microphones on a pink background. Rolling Stone’s updated list of the five hundred best albums does move away from the stranglehold that boomer rock had over the original list, in 2003—the needle is moving, even if it isn’t yet reflecting the speed and lawlessness of the Internet.

Quotebakersfield Fantastic album. I thought I knew the blues but most of the songs were new to me so it was just like having a proper new Stones album. They should do Vol 2 once they've put out the much delayed next record. Second that!

DeVito died in Las Vegas on Monday, according to his friend Alfredo Nittoli, who first posted the news on Facebook. Wrecking Ball is a wonderful album. I was lucky enough to see Emmylou when she toured in 2014 to promote the re-release. And a few years ago when she and some other musicians did the Concert for Lampedusa tour, Daniel popped down the road from Hamilton and joined them. Great stuff.

Even as a Canuck, I’m pretty gutted about this one. RBG was an incredible force of nature, a brilliant jurist, wonderful role model for girls and women, and she had a wicked sense of humour. Politics aside, her passing is a huge loss. RIP RBG.

Ahhh, MisterDDDD, thanks for those! I’d heard about the Nandi-Grohl drumoff, but hadn’t seen Nandi’s theme song. Brilliant and delightful. I’ve always liked David Grohl, but he has rocketed into the stratosphere of my esteem with this - kind, generous with his time and a good sport. And she’s an awesome musician. When this crud is over, I know they will meet and look forward to seeing that.
