Ever since Licks they’ve had trouble figuring out an opener. You can tell Mick doesn’t just want to use SMU/JJF/BS over and over, but when they try other stuff, they retreat back to safety after a few shows. Sympathy looked like a cool opener from the clips online, it just hit the skids when they got further north and it was done in daylight.

When Pino left the Who in 2015 it was to retire from the road, and he’s more or less stuck to that as far as I know. Cool that he stopped by the Stones rehearsal.

The ‘14-‘17 tour was talked about as being the end. They got a second wind with the orchestra shows in ‘19-‘23. I expect these RAH shows to be actually it.

Looking forward to this immensely. Licks was the last gasp of something, I think.

QuotePaintMonkeyManBlack QuoteStilllife09 SO NYC NYC2 have PIT A and PIT B tickets all resale, considering it was (almost) impossible to get pit without the packages, what would that mean? people would resell their packages but now you only get the ticket? or are these not really resale tickets? They are not, i bet. There are at least ten thousands resale tickets for nyc 2 now. Just no way the

Quotebobo QuoteBeastyBurdeny At this rate, I feel like he's gonna add a euro tour and a secondary market NA tour.. man is on a mission Maybe but there is no voice left now. Horrible. His stuff this year has been quite a lot better than 2022. It’s not 2002, or even 2013, but he’s got enough left to keep going (which I didn’t expect, I thought after Glasto he’d call it a day).

Jagger was pretty out of breath on several 2022 dates, I wonder if we could trade less running around on his part for a couple of additional songs. If we get the extra nights in big cities rumored, this will be one of their longer treks in a while, if they’re feeling excited by a new record, it could be a very surprising tour indeed. I wonder if Chuck will be on board.

"Driving Too Fast" just came up on shuffle, I haven't listened to this in more than ten years probably... it's a little bit of nothing really but it has a good groove and some nice guitars. Nice to be reminded of it.

Quote2120Joe Good week of live music for me: Bob Dylan, U2 and Phish. The Sphere is awesome, both sound and visuals. I was afraid of sensory overload and distracting gimmicks. I found limited gimmicks. Sure some showing off the next gen technology like when the ceiling falls. But just as one inflatable brings a show to life but many would be carnivalish most displays add to bringing the mus

QuoteDGA35 Never heard of him prior to Stones! One thing about Miley Cyrus, not a fan of hers but she sure knows a lot of classic rock tunes so good for her! He’s a pop producer d’jour a la Kurstin, Antonoff, Tedder, Epworth, though he’s probably the most rock minded of those four. He knows his music,, and is pretty good at getting artists to sound like the best version of themselves, rather t

QuoteBeastyBurdenyThanks for the info, and definitely no disrespect toward the band from me for it. Roger nails LROM and the rest of the show is great. I love the Who and will gladly see them again, if ever I get the chance. Roger's singing has been sort of miraculous these last few years, you'd never believe he's 80. I've seen the current tour a couple of times and everyone

QuoteBeastyBurdeny I saw some accusations in some comment sections about Roger using a pre-recorded track for the scream in Won't Get Fooled Again. I don't think he's doing that for the scream in Love Reign O'er Me, so it seems odd to do it for another track. Also, if he's just doing it for a scream or two it's pretty forgivable. Just curious if anyone has seen m

The reports from this UK tour sound like it's an amazing set of shows - so happy for the band and all attendees. I caught it in the US last fall and they were in extraordinary form, glad to hear it's kept up. Assuming this is the end, what a glorious conclusion.

QuoteKoen He played on two songs, and barely played guitar. Willie was the real trooper. Keith was compos mentis and able to play and sing. He looked in good spirits too, could hop onto a stage tomorrow, it looked like. I'm optimistic for the future if that's how he looks now.

QuoteDoxa In regard to 2007 summer tour, The Who played in Helsinki (arena gig) within a month as the Stones did (stadium gig). I recall there were reviews of both shows in the same edition of SOUNDI, a Finnish rock magazine. What I found funny was that the pretty low profile Who gig was praised for them playing so many old classic songs to please their audiences, while the much more hyped Stones

I hope there’s a 2001-present box to round out the Bowie archive releases. We’ve had everything through Toy, but a set with Heathen/Reality/Next Day/Blackstar plus a couple of live shows would be a perfect conclusion.

QuoteTornAndFried Any news on McCartney playing this year? He usually announced his tours in the spring. I don’t think it’s a given that he’s going to. There’s so little left of his voice… he just about pulled off Glasto last year, I think that’s a fine place to leave it.

Quotemicha063 I just ordered the deluxe edition with Salt Lake City on Blue-ray for 29€. I'm curious about the Salt Lake City show. SLC show has some nice moments but the version of Rain Fall Down (which was broadcast live to an awards show at the time) is atrocious. As though they were all playing in different rooms without monitors.

QuoteTheBlockbuster Quotetommycharles Mick has certainly helped his voice out a bit after the fact, but no matter, it helps the overall show out I think. You mean some vocals are overdubbed? Or just pitch corrected? I haven’t A/B’d it with the original version but there were a few spots where Nick hits notes he never normally does live, I think it’s likely that he touched them up for this… ob

About 3/4 of the way through this now - it’s a very good gig, I’ve enjoyed it very much. Looks great, sounds good (which I wasn’t sure about from the individual tracks released so far)… I remember enjoying the stream in 2012 and it’s still good now. Mick has certainly helped his voice out a bit after the fact, but no matter, it helps the overall show out I think.

Quotemosthigh I saw The Who the next night at Climate Pledge (Lemon Pledge?) Arena in Seattle. The sound was also quite good, although Pete's guitar was low in the mix sometimes. Unfortunately that's been an element of their whole 2022 tour. There were still some moments where Pete let rip, but overall he's been buried in the mix compared to 2019. The Climate Pledge show this
