QuoteNaturalust Since this is a club, I wonder it everybody's going to stick around till closing time and drink and socialize. The Stones included. Perhaps a slightly drunken jam towards the end with Mr. Whitworth on keys and the new wife singing along? peace With onlystones toasting them all!

QuoteAmsterdamned Quotegmanp Gonna see Jeff B. next week at the Ryman in Nashville. First time to see him You'll be amazed. Check out this guy, I would like to see him perform with Jeff. He's playing a bit Indian raga style with slide. They would make a great couple imo, as Jeff creates a similar atmosphere with his whammy bar. Derek Trucks, nephew of Butch Trucks, who i

QuoteBeast Good on Prince for again doing the unexpected and wowing the fans. No one in their right mind is now going to be leaving any of his shows in a hurry. But he probably will only do this kind of encore on certain nights - just like he only turned up at some of the aftershows at O2 Indigo. The four I was lucky to catch were AMAZING and every one different. Waaaaaaay better than any of

Saw Jeff Beck last night, front row center. Fabulous show! Incredible talent. I always hear a lot of people say that you have to see Bob Dylan at least once in your life, even though his voice is gone, he doesn't play his hits, etc... but, I would have to say the same of Jeff Beck, but all of his skills are still intact.

QuoteStonesTod strider - if you're expecting a typical beck show, be forewarned...he's playing with a large ensemble as a tribute to les paul. he's not playing as the band leader you'd normally see him. there are ALOT of folks not paying attention to the press releases and marquee's for these beck shows and alot of beck fans are outraged. i know - my daughter works the

Well, I'll decide this Saturday when I see Jeff Beck for the 1st time. Seen Clapton many times, will be interesting to see how Jeff compares. But, I'm really expecting it to be closer to the Joe Bonamassa show I saw about a month ago, more than any of Eric Clapton's last few tours. I expect more true fans of the guitar and it's music, and less aging suburbanites that only

Some may sit, and some may stand. I will always stand and rock out. I don't really care about the others around me so long as they don't get in my way! It's not my job to make sure they have a good time, that's up to them! Rock on!

I saw him on March 3rd. Blew me away! But like Jeff Beck, other than the incredible guitar skill, it's lacking in any real wide appeal. Going to see Jeff Beck next month.

Quotetatters Yeah, but even Gabriel's solo stuff became more and more commercial. I like Phil and Peter both, the prog stuff and the pop stuff. It's all good. Funny thing about that too. Peter's stuff became more commercial only after he cleaned up from riding the horse. What does that say about drugs and creativity? Or was it that he was approaching middle age and like so many o

Pop music is still alive and well, unfortunately. In the marketplace, Pop has 80% vs 20% for rock. It sucks, but pop will always be popular simply because it appeals to the lowest common denominator. Simply music, catchy tunes, make for easy sales. Hence the term Pop.

Genesis with Gabriel up front was a rock band with prog intentions. Genesis with Phil up front was a pop band cranking out hits for the masses. This is why Peter left, because Phil wanted more to do more commercially accepted material instead of being an artist. Guess which version I liked. Sounds like he's getting to be a bitter old man. If he really wanted to go off quietly

The big difference is the Stones are a band, a group of people. Most of the artists that create wonderful music late in life are individuals. Not only do these individuals not have to cater to the record label or audience, they don't have to agree with other members of the band regarding the product.
