I've been to the Urban Jungle concerts in West-Berlin and Gelsenkirchen and to both Steel Wheel concerts in East-Berlin. At each gig I shouted "Paint it Black you devils" at the top of my voice right before they played "Paint it black" in memory of the girl we all can hear on Yayas. When I listened to Flashpoint I was quite surprised to hear the girl from Yayas in that sa

We Berliners had the once in a lifetime chance to see our favourite band on two different stages within a couple of weeks: having the Urban Jungle stage at the Olympic Stadium on 6th June and the Steel Wheels stage on the 13th and 14th August. And yes the second show at the then called bikeracing ground in Weißensee was a wet one. But since we were at a sportive ground we rushed - soaking wet as

I'm 68. It all started with Paint it Black in July '66. Got my first albums in April 67 (Aftermath and Got live...) for my confirmation being a protestant kid then. First concert Berlin, Deutschlandhalle, September 16th, 1970.

I bought my first Stonesboot after their concert on the 19th of October 1973 here in Berlin at the Deutschlandhalle. It was Rolling Again and what attracted me most was the neonred silkscreen cover. It was sold in front of the venue by some youngsters of about my age (21 then). They were American and since we had so many American soldiers here in Berlin at the time, I thought they might be soldie

It was in 1970, when I spent a visit to the Elektrola Musikhaus on the posh Kurfürstendamm here in Berlin, where they still had those booths in which they played the records for you. I had asked for the new Stones live lp ( having heard of yayas), but what the assistant played to me was Liver than... I was really surprised, being 17 I didn't know that bootlegs existed. And although I thought

Being born in 1952, I grew up in one of the poorer quarters of Berlin, in the north of Neukölln. I remember first listening to Satisfaction from a small transistor radio of an older member of our “street gang“. It got me hooked at once. With the Stones coming to the Berlin Waldbühne I urged my Mom to let me go. But what was her answer, something like “Good boys don't go to those rock'n&

I bought my first boot right after my second stonesconcert here in Berlin in 1973. When I left the Deutschlandhalle there were members of the American community right at the exits, selling Rolling Again in quiet big numbers to the concertvisitors at the price of 10,- Deutschmark, which was pretty cheap at a time when we still paid up to 20,- Deutschmark for a regular disc. Still got the piece and

Of course none of the stones were there, but it still was nice to be the first ones on this planet to get the book. I've seen some pics of the stones since 1966 but the funniest in all the years is in this very book on pages 226 and 227. Mick looking like a duck with - i think stevie wonder's- cap on. Wait and see!

Im just wondering wether I'm the only person in this thread who reads the "Berliner Zeitung". Keith gave an interview to this paper around the time they were publishing his autobiography and he was asked about his relationship with MJ and he gave the remark:" We are looking forward to next June when we will be touring together!"

We had a Stonesshow here in Berlin on August 14th, 1990, when they played East-Berlin. It was a hot day's night and just before the Steel Wheels Show started it all came down on us.The show was postponed for about three quarters of an hour and so we went home, put on some dry clothes and when we returned they were just into Tumbling Dice...
