I would not go so far as to call it shite. In fact, the Seattle bootleg brought back more of the actual feeling of the concert for me than Before the Flood. (Hey, Robbie, wanna do any overdubs on this? SURE!) But seeing Dylan for the first time, it was baffling. I would not hear the Albert Hall bootleg until that summer and then I understood a little better. Always felt Dylan was trying to

Saw that tour in DC and Phillie. Long time gone. Here's Seattle except I can't get the link to work. http://bigozine2.com/roio/?p=2451]]

According to Frank, Jr., Dylan and Sinatra were good friends with Dylan occasionally calling and asking for Frank's advice on things. I didn't care for this Dylan album but I do really like the video. A ninety-minute film noire boiled down to three minutes.

Trip to London and Paris. Got tickets for Marianne's November 19 gig at the Olympia. We'd never been in there and thought it might make an interesting evening. Also got tickets to Jackson Browne at Albert Hall but that's another story. Unannounced opening act was a three-piece all woman band. Have no idea who they were but they were good. Baritone sax, minimal drum kit and

I saw him in Hershey Pennsylvania in Sept. 2012 and he played three songs on guitar that night--I believe that's the most he's played in any recent years. It was a good concert but the Albert Hall show last November was better. Dylan is showcasing his work from the last twenty years and it works great. Contrast that with Mick and the boys set list.

Saw the same show last November at Albert Hall. Here's a link to my review:http://theunofficialmartinguitarforum.yuku.com/topic/154520/Bob-Dylan-at-Albert-Hall-26-Nov-2013 Link doesn't seem to work but it does if you cut and paste.

This has been asked here before. During the ABB Tour in Washington, I sat in the first row of the second level on the side. When Mick left the stage, I saw him raise his arms in the air as one woman pulled his shirt off over his head and then another woman put his fresh shirt on. Then he stood there drinking bottled water until a couple minutes before it was time for him to go back on.

A thoughtful, well-written piece. It deserves to be published somewhere that they will send you a check.

It would be an honor just to be in the same room as Chuck Berry. Listening to his records is always an education for any guitarist.

I did the Eurail pass in my long gone youth. A great opportunity to travel without a pre-planned schedule. Start off, go where you want to go. We would literally arrive in a town, look at the board and hop on the next train to whatever seemed interesting. I'm assuming Eurail now includes Eurostar which makes it a ridiculously easy two hours or so to go from London to Paris or Brussels,

Yes, many learned. In February 1972 I sat at his feet (literally) in the gym of Gettysburg College. It was as much a life lesson as concert and you could not go away without having felt you had learned something important.

Last night I dreamed about Pete Seeger and quoting some of his lyrics to him. Woke up this morning and found out he was gone. I ran into Pete Seeger several times, the last being at a hotel in Minnesota. There was some old guy with a gig bag slung over his back arguing with the desk clerk. I thought, "There are some strange people in this place." Then I recognized Pete when he ca

QuoteSilver Dagger I always loved this description of Joan by BD. Later on in the sixties, when the media pestered BD about his relationship to JB and if he'd seen her lately, he confided: "Last time I saw her, she was rolling around on the floor, tripping on acid. She used to enjoy wiping herself with the American flag after doing it." Not a real Dylan quote. It's from

During the Bigger Bang Washington show, I was at the side of the stage in the front row, second level, and could see behind the curtain. Mick walked off stage, held his arms up. One woman pulled his shirt off over his head, then another woman pulled a new shirt on. After that he stood there sipping from a plastic cup until he disappeared to get ready to go back out.

A couple thoughts. Are you in the US? If so, keep a watch on Craigslist. I have bought two Martins there in recent years, a D-18 and an M-36 for a thousand or less. Believe it or not, I saw a couple year old D-28 go for $500 within the past month but it was only up for an hour before it sold. Amazing deal for someone. Tough times and people need cash. If you are buying new and are in the

If you look around, take your time and know what you're doing, you can find a used Martin at a very good price. Then you basically have a playable bank account that can easily be turned into cash and will increase in value as the price of new Martins increases. Check out the Unofficial Martin Guitar Forum. Lots of great info there.

In Washington on the last tour, I was at the side of the stage where I could see what Mick does while Keith is singing. Mick walked behind the curtain and stuck both arms in the air. A female assistant pulled Mick's shirt up over his head and then a second female assistant put a new shirt on him. Then Mick sipped something from a plastic cup until it was time to go back out.
