Can't stand them. Bono is nauseating and I just can't get into a band that doesn't have a legitimate rock or blues bases guitar player. The edge is just horrible. If there's anyone out there that DOESN'T deserve a nickname its him

QuoteSKILLS A friend of mine used to run the "Great American Lawn Company" that had exclusive contracts for some of the most significant sites and homes in the greater New York/Conneticut area's acquired the contract to Keiths home, he recounts a story of seeing Richards and Frehley together at Keiths house loaded to the eyeballs, with their particular tipples, playing their guitar

QuoteStill, when listening to The White Album, I think Exile could have been so much better. And when their 'second' guitarist is on relatively so few tracks ...[/quote Exile is perfect. I can't imagine it any other way...

In regard to Mathis' post about 6 tracks from Nellcote: I hate when you say this! Lol It's been mentioned by multiple people in the stones camp that they overdubbed much at Nellcote in regard to those tracks originally tracked at Olympic and Stargeoves. Songs like SBA, SV, LIL, etc. there was much touched up and added to while at Nellcote. Nellcote fairy dust man. And yes, they

A couple years back I found a bunch of recent nellcote pics on the internet. From time to time I do a search to see if there is any new footage of the place... I was looking on youtube and found this footage which appears to be taking around the same time - but there appear to be pics from the renovated basement/kitchen area... Search youtube for "Les Chantiers Villa Nellcote"

Tumbling Dice (IMO the band's finest moment) Soul Survivor Let It Loose Sweet Virginia Ventilator Blues Holy shit that was hard! Lol As I typed those five songs I was amazed when pondering each of them how desperate sounding they all are in their own way. Amazing really what they achieved on this record. It's got to be their most honest moment on tape. I overdose on this a

Quoteletitloose I always thought RnR over had poor sound. The production on Love Gun was a step up - but maybe the songwriting was too. I'm a huge Kiss fan, but have a blind spot with RnR over. love the cover tho. My favourite is still probably Dressed to kill. "you're good looking and you're looking like you should be good". Classic Kiss with the rat-a-tat swinging Ca

Quoteletitloose Quotetheanchorman The first two Kiss albums - Kiss & Hotter Than Hell - are great albums that are just about unlistenable and suffer from lifeless and distorted mixes respectively. Too bad they couldn't get Eddie Kramer to mix those albums as well... The interesting thing with that is that Eddie Kramer produced their first demo. He subsequently botched rock and roll ove

He mentions that he hung out at Nellcote with them too. Who knows if the song started there? Regardless, it's still pretty cool he was with them during that time.

In regard to that MSG Thru and Thru clip. Gandolfini is actually in the audience in that show. They show him on Four Flicks. I think during Satisfaction. He has a beard and is wearing a bandana. Now there definetly won't be a Sopranos movie. Shit.... RIP

I posted a link a year or two ago to a ton of updated pics of nellcote - I think some re stil around if you google them. Someone was mentioning tunnels that Anita spoke of - when did she mention these? This is the first I've heard of these. I do recall reading that there were three levels to the cellar and one of them led out to the grounds where the dock/jetty was.... I always am fasc

Quotekeefriffhard4life Quotetheanchorman You mean Gene lied/exaggerated? No way! While Kiss has been a complete joke since they started dressing up roadies as original members, they were a great live band back in the day. Especially into the late 70's. Someone mentioned Ace's tone was thin in that video - somthing was up with his sound there as he typically always has the same rag

Quotekeefriffhard4life QuoteMunichhilton Alright. Got my second wind. Don Felder made the Eagles soar. When he left the Eagle had landed. With him gone Henley wrote "Johnny Can't Read" and Frey wrote "Smuggler's Blues"... I'm still unclear what tripe Felder was writing at the time but they clearly needed each other badly. Joe Walsh didn't really nee
