I was listening to Jumpin Jack Flash the other night and Bill's bass lines jumped out at me! - I was thinking just how important and what a difference the bass lines make - sometimes walkin around, sometimes just percussive and punchy, sometimes melodic in a subtle way, sometimes just leading into the next phrase - giving the song that critical drive. . . .???? What are some songs (stones

Anybody out there a Delbert McClinton fan? What era or CD would be a good intro to his stuff - I heard a track the other day and liked it. What's his music style - blues rock mostly? I guess he's been around a long time and I have heard his name but never really paid attention. Any advice anyone? You got to roll me. . . .

I was listening to Get Your Ya Ya's this morning and as I was listening to 'Love In Vain' realized how efficient the Stones can be - that song is so paired down and raw blues - yet so effective. Any of you blues guitarists know what is meant by 'sometimes it's what you don't play that's as important as what you play' when it comes to basic blues riffs and

Can someone explain BV's position on this post? Police, mediator, server admin person. . . .editor?? And where does this IORR server exist? In the USA, Europe, outer space? - anyone know the mechanics of what makes this thing tic? Has this post ever gone off-line without notice for long times? - probably causing some people to jump out of windows I would think.

Maybe this has come up before but just what do the guys all do on their off days? We never really hear any of them making the news or making appearances and all that? To tour on the road for over a year when you're the rolling stones just seems like they would go stir crazy eventually - anyone know what any of them do to keep from going crazy? Hobbies, interests, dining, workout, jam, i

Who played piano on Sympathy. . .?? For that matter who played on all of Let It Bleed? Was it Stu then, Nicky or both. . . .?? Someone else? The Stones sense of piano & organ stylings over the years has always been tastefully done in my opinion. Anybody up on who played piano when? You got to roll me. . . .

Definately go into the studio, relax, spend time refining some new great blues & rock stuff - hire a producer or bv to hold them to classic stones stuff - ABB had a few gems just too many songs or too rushed on some. . . .slow it down a bit and fight it out if necessary!. . .they still got it if they want to take the time. Forget the big world tours and all that - just show up at a few l

I just listened to 'This Place Is Empty' and teared up a bit as my 18 year old son heads out to college. . . .it's a long story but to sum it up, the mom & I are stuggling with him leaving and all that. . . I play 'She's Leaving Home' of the Beatles lately on piano and we sort of relate. . . .it's tough, for many personal reasons we won't bring up here

We actually dropped some acid when that album came out (was it '80-'81 = it's kind of a blurr in the early 80's) My sister and I out on a farm and we cranked that album 'til it wor thru I think - can you imagine what the hoof on the inside sleeve looked like tripping out? NASTY! Love that album - brings back memories, well if there's any memory recall left given o

'69, '72 or '78 ??? For me it seemed like 78, that's when I came to 'love them' - raw, mature, sexy, punk, glam? - on top of the world, - they were up against - doubt, punk, disco, so called 'old age - or 'has-beens?? etc. and they came out swinging w/ Some Girls - loved it! But some might think they were at the top of their game earlier. . . .I don&

OK - our priase band at church has challenged me to come up with a stones song to do at a service this summer at our church. Anybody got any ideas what might fly? Pretty laid back church - we just intro-ed a song last week with the classic 'Paint It Black' intro (no lyrics of course) and people were snickering in the room - it was great. We've done some Lennon-McCartney songs -

If you could pick a song or two that the Stones should do a cover of, what would they be? I wonder why they don't dig up more Muddy Waters or Chuck Berry or Howlin' Wolf or Willie Dixon (or even Bob Dylan) gems and let the boys go at it. It would be neat to mix up a set with some early R&B rarities here & there. If any band could do it justice, it's the Stones. Has

R&B. . .if they're smart. . .drift into that - they do it so well, and it is the best way for them to fade away with, R&B but do it like 'only' the stones can do. That's it. . .remember, 'kick it' and put the stones stamp on their 'R&B' - classic stuff!! But R&B all the way. . . It's only rock n roll, but I like it. . . .

We know everyone loves & would love Bill Wyman back on bass and all that - his bass lines are classic on stones stuff. . .how does everyone feel about Darrel Jones filling in on bass. . .?? Does he add snap (bing, bang, pop) to the percussion section? and give a little animation (Bill pretty much stood there and did his bass thing) does he honor Bill Wyman's stuff on earlier recordings
