So how exactly did Billy Preston get 2 songs on the 1976/1976 tours? What kind of negotiations was involved? I had a fan tell me once that the Stones were a little desperate to keep the band together after Taylor left and Bobby got tossed out so they needed Billy who knew the songs anyway to help keep it cohesive with the new guy, Ronnie, coming in. To entice Billy to stay with them, they

QuoteNashvilleBlues Pearl Jam. Murfreesboro, TN, March 26, 1994. The only time they played Dock of the Bay (w/ Cropper). I was in the pit fighting for my life. Insane environment. Setlist: Video: Damn Nashville, one of my favorite shows. Mine was Boston Garden 1994 (1st PJ show) should have been lollapalooza 92 but I missed my ride due to a girl I was trying to get with.

Wow so many good shows mentioned. My introduction to the 75 tour were the Cow Palace, San Francisco shows. Love the sound and atmosphere on those audience recordings

I had a Christmas party for some friends last night. During dinner, my son and I were spinning old Christmas records, Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, etc. The usual stuff. Then after dinner, I put on side two of Hackney Diamonds. Oh man, most every one seemed to enjoy it, but I felt like I was back in High School spinning Stones records in the corner, which all felt relatively new at the time.

Los Angeles Forum January 18, 1973 Nicaraguan Earthquake Benefit REVIEW- No, I was not there, just a review of the show. Source: All-Meat Music - TMOQ (Silkcut1978.Soundboard.Goody) Audience Recording A- Overall: Great show. The recording is an audience source but to a trained bootleg ear, it's very listenable. As we all know it's an historic performance with an interesting set

QuoteMonkeyMan2000 I think "quality" is just the wrong category for comparisons in music and especially in the Stones' catalogue. I would neeever say Emotional Rescue or Undercover are better than Let it Bleed, yet I listen to them more. There's a Stones album for every mood and that's the beautiful thing about this band. On many occasions the fun and lightness of albums

It saddens me that in this day and age that we can't get even an average audience recording. Not one person brought in a tape recorder? Ha maybe there no tape recorders anymore. I guess we rely a little to much on out phones. Would have loved to hear this show and that Love in Vain Taylor played on for small show a few years ago as well! But that's the way it goes . . . I get it.

Not that anyone values my opinion but I like it, but I don't love it. I've listened to both versions a few times now and the production and instruments are top notch. My criticism is like Angry, there is no repeating chorus (same lyric) that I can latch on to. So for me both songs, and I do like them both, do not have that consistent chorus hook that draws me in and keeps me coming back

Nashvilleblues, as promised here is my brief show review. I think they played 2 repeat songs from the previous show. I have to admit their set lists have been really impressive in terms of song selection this tour. This was my 56th show. First show in 5 years and I can't wait for a 2024 tour. 01. Long Road- I don't want to brag, but I called the opener. It was full force, my buddy tu
