Last year I uploaded to You Tube a long lost Pro Shot video of David Bowie live in Sydney for the final Australian concert of his 1983 Serious Moonlight tour. Unfortunately though, the audio was slightly out of sync and there were a couple of drop outs. These have all now been corrected and the updated version can be found here: Hope you enjoy it.

I noticed as soon as I uploaded it to You Tube the sync was slightly off, but too late . I have also uploaded an updated Life on Mars? as there was a drop out in the original, which I have now restored.

Back in 1983, I was working in a One-hour photo lab in Sydney Australia and we would often have crew from the Sydney Entertainment Centre come by to drop off films to be processed. Over time I got to know some of the camera crew that would shoot the video that would be projected onto the sight screens at the side of the stage. When Bowie came to Sydney, these guys were hired to do the same thi

Over the past 40 or so years Keith has featured as the most likely rock star to die next. In a survey in the mid 70's Lou Reed was miffed as he was placed at number 2, Keith of course was number one.( Lou continued but unfortunately recently fell by the wayside). I have the following short quote about his not reaching 70 (from 1973) I'm just glad the prognosis did not come to pass.

Back in 1973 an Australian journalist (Jeune Pritchard) interviewed Keith as part of their tour (clip below). I've been waiting a long time to celebrate her being wrong. Happy 70th Keith!! video:

Maybe there is a reason why those 4 tracks are missing? Listening to Ya Ya's I would say that they are probably the best performances of the concerts. I don't mind as long as they see the light of day (before too long). You can't tell me all this footage is lost and how about the rest of the Altamont show, how good would it be to see Brown Sugar performed live for the very first ti

Thanks Kleermaker, sounds like a great project, you get hooked on these things and they really take a bit of work, but I enjoy doing it. If you can pull together the full setlist would be fantastic. I know what you mean about the girl with the tears and wonder if she is really sad at the whole bad scene that Altamont had become and the end of the hippy dream? I also like the juxtaposition with

Thanks. It was interesting putting this together. You start to get immersed in the period and particular faces in the audience as much as the performers. It makes you wonder where they are now. Looking at the Sympathy footage at Altamont, the youth and vibrancy, it is hard to believe that so many of them would now be in their 60's and even 70's.

OK, let's try that again.. They are regarded as 2 of the greatest live albums of all time and were recorded within weeks of each other: The Stones with Get Yer Ya Ya's Out and The Who Live At Leeds. Although some of Ya Ya's was captured for Gimme Shelter, unfortunately Live at Leeds was not filmed. However a Who concert was filmed within days of the Stones and is fairly close to t

In the special features of Gimme Shelter, both Carol and Little Queenie had gaps in the film with audio only. I have filled in the gaps and dubbed with the audio to complete the performances. I couldn't help but add the "I think I busted a button on my trousers" line at the beginning of Carol for old times sake.

Hi Midimanzz, my pleasure. I'm like you when I first saw Gimme Shelter (1971!) and couldn't believe it was cut like that. As for Carol and Little Queenie I will upload the 2 clips later tonight, so keep an eye out

Thanks for that. I've done the same with Little Queenie and Carol from the Baltimore/NY shows. I will check out I'm Free and see what I can do.

In the film Gimme Shelter, Street Fighting Man (the final song of the New York segment) is missing the middle section as it is intercut with video and audio of a DJ and Altamont. I have removed this and added in extra footage and overlaid audio from Get Yer Ya Ya's Out. I think it works well.

I think this is just a ruse to find out how old we are. Ok so mine was Auckland '73 .Stinking hot summers day and the tickets were $4.95 and I was 3 rows from the front (eventually)

I think this would only really be interesting if you could transpose the Stones from say 1968 and put them into todays environment. Until the age of 29 the majority of bands were (and are?) edgy, prepared to experiment and absorb other influences. Sure there are exceptions but if you take any great band the truly revolutionry work took place in their 20's. Trying to get the Stones as they are

Isn't it refreshing to hear a band of the size of Zeppelin just play as a 4 piece? Maybe if the stones just pared the entire show back to a 5 piece with keyboards for a change it could be more interesting (I'd also like to see Keith play using 2 hands again instead of his one hand theatrics). The boots I've heard of Zep's O2 shows are raw and powerful, hopefully if they tour t

I have a version of this song on a bootleg called Bourbon Janglers. It is slightly shorter than other versions I have heard (it doesn't have the jamming pause 2/3rds of the way through). This is my all time favourite unreleased track (why it's never been released I'll never know), but I would like to get a high quality version if it exists out of the vaults. Does this exist?

This was posted previously as broadcast with the studio audio overdub. I overdubbed it synced it with the audio from the Perth show (which took a bit of work). But I feel the result shows just how great they were on this tour!! (I was at one of the concerts and it was Hot in so many ways!) Bitch: Brown Sugar:

Hi Eric, I have an old vinyl boot I got back in the '70's called "the Thin White Duke" which again is the Nassau Collseum concert, but also includes a duet with Cher doing "Can you Hear Me" and "Young Americans". Is this on the CD boot you have got? If not, I can transfer to MP3 and up load here. Incidentally I think the version of Word On a Wing is jus
