Elvis got several records in the Guinness Book of World Records, but what about the Stones? I only can found one in the most recent edition: as the most successful music tour. Other known records of mentioning of the Stones?

Quotefranzk No, the 1st time they played it was 99 during No Security tour. First performed during a tour, yes in 1999, but it was also played in 1995, at an impromptu concert held during the September video shoot for Like a Rolling Stone in Kingscross, London. Mentioned on the Rolling Stones offical website Always loved the performance of the song at Wembley in 1999.

Quotefrankotero I also think Chuck is the KING. Elvis was important, no doubt about it. In my opinion he helped bridge the whites and blacks. However he didn't write music and also faked guitar playing (although entertaining)...... Besides his concerts, Elvis did play rhythm guitar on several of his records, mostly his early recordings (that's Elvis playing rhytm guitar on That'

Quotecamper88 Crossfire, I think that the issue with the RJ songs is that they were public domain at the time (trad.) and so Jagger and Richards could claim the song's arrangement as their own without having to acknowledge the original song writer, much as has been done with Auld Lang Syne, variously "written" by Guy Lombardo, Rod Stewart, or The Barenaked Ladies. Quotewith sssoul Buddy Holly's full name was Charles Hardin Holley. Norman Petty owned a recording studio. i don't know whether they really wrote songs together or if adding Petty's name was simply a deal they had, but that credit is correct. Robert Johnson ... have you maybe read Elijah Wald's book Escaping the Delta ? fascinating book. (did Elmore James ever credit Joh

So what's the deal with some of the songcredits of coversongs? I'm a little bit confused by it. Not Fade away for instance is not credited on the 1986 abkco-cd England's Newest Hit Makers and is credited to Petty/Hardin on Stripped (although it's written by Holly). Love in Vain is credited to Jagger/Richards on Let it Bleed and as trad. arr. Jagger/Richards on Get Yer Ya-Y

Rumors go he hasn't left the building and is still playing blackjack in Las Vegas. I knew it! I thought the dealer looked familiar!

This is what Elvisnews.com says about Elvis in october 1969: October 01, 1969 Elvis flew to Dallas, returning the following day. October 05, 1969 Elvis flew to Los Angeles, then continued on to Hawaii together with Priscilla, Vernon and Dee, the Espositos, the Gambills and the Schillings, in a trip largely paid by the International Hotel. October 12, 1969 Elvis and Priscilla, Vernon a

Quotestonesrule As I recall, the Beatles and Stones were disappointed by many of Elvis movies but impressed by his "comeback" 1967 TV show. But the Beatles were impressed when they met him in August 1965 in his Bel Air house. The comeback show was in 1968.

Fatal Flowers was a very good rock band indeed. Too bad they split up. Just a clip how good they sounded: And although they were more a bluesband The Strikes sure knew who to rock! To bad the split up also. Big Pete still performs; sometimes with the Lester Butler Tribute Band. That (Dutch) guy is a helluva harp player:
