The story to which bleedingman linked about the mayor of Nashville supposedly covering up statistics on transmission rates in bars was based on a Fox News story. The Fox News story was FALSE and has been retracted. Quotebleedingman Musicians in Nashville are most likely going to file a class action lawsuit against the mayor, who blatantly lied to the public and inflated transmission rates

Ronnie was supposedly on the road at the time. With Keith living in the coach house, Keith probably (pretty correctly) thought of it as his basement.

QuoteChris Fountain "100 Years Ago": oh what a beauty, a true gem! Interesting to hear how finished the demo version of the song is here, all the words, chords and musical phases are there. Wonderfully crafted song." The piano version is outstanding and length is correct. In other words, the more simplistic the more superior this song rings. May be the Gem of the collection. A

Today’s episode was good. I hadn’t seen that Naked Eye clip before. More lead guitar shredding from Pete than most Who songs.

The essence of The Who live in the Keith Moon days was that four great rock musicians were competing against each other. That attitude left with Keith. Even without Keith, they still were spectacular. I saw them in ‘99 at the Bridge School Benefit, when the Ox was still with them. They were maybe 60% of what they had been, and still blew every other act off the stage. Roger and Pete have

The touring band currently consist of Roger’s backup musicians, including Pete’s brother Simon, who has toured with Roger, plus Pete and Zak. Pete is still very engaged in the shows, but Roger plans them. Roger has said Pete doesn’t like changing the setlist, has difficulty remembering words much, and doesn’t remember chord shapes. Pete writes songs, and occasionally offers some to Roger

Roger had bad voice problems and had to leave the stage at the Chicago show I saw on the Endless Wire tour; Pete continued without him. I, too, thought they were done. I think Roger had throat surgery after that. They also made a bigger point of forbidding smoking in the post-2012 shows. I was wowed by how much better they were on the Quadrophenia tour.

Page: “I like what Mick did with it.” I’m not sure when Mick did it - in the 1970’s, now, or a bit then and a bit now.

Quotebye bye johnny Well, they told me a funny story about it, but I probably shouldn’t give it away, because I don’t know if I’m allowed to. I wish I could tell you, but it’s their news to tell. But logistically, I don’t even know how they pulled it off in time, with extraordinarily mixed vocals, and yet they did it from four entirely different parts of the country with very, very, very limited

Is there anyone who believes that the four were playing at the same time? Like Keith Urban, they recorded separate tracks at different times, and then the videos/tracks were assembled together by someone else.

QuoteLibrarian Omg I joked about the critique of Keef right before it actually started. Ha For the critics out there, listen again you can actually hear keef sing. You can actually barely hear Keith sing most of his lines, and you can hear about five strums, if you listen closely.

QuoteJames Kirk QuoteHairball It would be cool to see a Macca/Mick duet backed by the Keith, Ronnie, and Stevie Wonder.... It would be cool to see The Stones and McCartney close out the show together doing Hey Jude. It would be historic! Mick, Keith, and Paul were all there for the first worldwide satellite broadcast -- All You Need Is Love.

Say a prayer for the common foot soldier Spare a thought for his back breaking work Say a prayer for his wife and his children Who burn the fires and who still till the earth. . . Raise your glass to the hard working people Let's drink to the uncounted heads Let's think of the wavering millions Who need leaders but get gamblers instead.

Quotegotdablouse Jeff Tweedy : Tweedy is doing a nightly 1 hour show at 10 pm EDT on Instagram. He sits on his couch, often with his robe and a cap on. He plays and sings some songs, jokes, and shares dumb family banter with his wife and sons. Sometimes his sons sing, and they harmonize well. Sometimes Spencer Tweedy plays drums. They take requests, do Wilco songs and covers, and occasion

I was at the infamous Boston Garden show, as well. That’s quite a story, schillid. The bottom didn’t sound right before they stopped playing, it was my first concert at the old Garden, and I thought it was just bad acoustics. If you listen to the tape above, you can hear Moon's drumming diminish before they stopped.

Quotebam I loved Mixed Emotions when it came out, and still like the album version. Mick’s vocals were angry. The song had a bite to it that live performances haven’t always had. The Desert Trip version (which I only saw on video) missed that bite. That performance didn’t have Keith singing. The song works in part because of the blend of Mick’s voice with Keith —- and how that makes us thi

I wonder if this is because Springsteen put out word that he's not touring this year. This may have freed up Nils Lofgren to tour with Young.
