Is it fair to think that if it were not for the Covid-19 situation, we would have had a "Scarlet" with Charlie&Darryl? Rockandroll, Mops

A remix of a song is a tricky thing. Why messing up with the original tune? But if the owners decide to do it just let's have fun with it. The Elvis Presley' estate allowed a remix of "A little less conversation" on #1 hits that is really good. Rockandroll, Mops

The new videos are aimed at perpetrating the sex, drugs&r&R in the 21century. Mick Jagger or the advisors at UMG probably wanted sexy& wild images to back up the sexy&wild music from 74. Rockandroll, Mops

Washington DC 07/03/2019. 50th anniversary of Brian Jones'passing away. They played MercyMercy that night. Last time the Stones played that song was in England for Hyde Park show 1969, honoring Brian. In DC Mick mentioned Don Covay the songwriter who was from DC. I took it as a tribute to Brian Jones which made that moment super special. Rockandroll, Mops

After checking out Amazon Prime, the 2004 BBC documentary does not appear. There is a movie with Johnny Knoxville about the stealing of the Gram's body that is available "Grand Theft Parsons". I may try that one. Does anybody know if it is a good movie? Rockandroll, mops

It seems to be available on Amazon prime; usually one has to pay an extra rental fee($4). I will check it out as I am interested in watching it. I always listen to Grams' records via streaming. My favorite is GP. I think that maybe around the time the docu was made, 2004, there was a CD of covers of Grams' songs done by famous musicians like Emmylou Harris, E. Costello etc.. very good

The opening riff is good but it is "garage"style. It does not have the impact of a Start me up or Brown Sugar intro. That is fine, more rootsy&scratchy but less commercial appeal. The chorus is the best part with a catchy melody and the name Scarlet t sounds cool. Rockandroll, Mops

The fact that the titles usually don't have a direct connection with the songs show that the Stones record songs as they come and then pick up the ones they like the most; no concept. Or maybe Tattoo You with a side with rockers and the other one with slower songs. Rockandroll, Mops

Each Rolling Stones' record is called a name. A couple of times it was the name of one of the songs on the record (Some Girls,IORR,etc..) but most of the time it seems not to be connected to anything particular; just a title. Who picks up the names and is there a discussion about(like Keith ready to call his lawyer if he doesn't like it? Rockandroll, Mops

The song Miss You is probably the most disco song the Stones have produced. It is a really good song because it is perfect as far as that musical genre is concerned. When the stones take upon a specific musical style usually they leave a mark on it. Who would shit on Miss You today? Very few I hope. Rockandroll, Mops

In 1977-78 I was not a fan of disco at all; on the contrary I was a disco hater(lol). But Miss YOU took me by surprise because it was so good to ear it on the radio each time , wherever and whenever it was. So my guess is that the shit they must have gotten must have quickly turned into a liking of that song by lot of people. In 1978, the stones fans with long hair and nostalgic of 1968-72 must h

QuoteGasLightStreet Quoterollmops I like what Jimmy does on the solos; they are very melodic and rhythmically good counterpoints to the vocals. The name "Scarlet" is a good name for a title of a song but they already had "Angie" and Angie had to stay because one could have guessed from the start that it was going to be a huge hit. Rockandroll, Mops And... Angie was

It is a good magazine but The Times they are A-changing. I am considering dropping RollingStoneMagazine although I have 1 year subscription left. Since the new format started, I don't read it anymore. It is there next to me but I don't have the interest at all. Some things change and I sometimes don't. Rockandroll, Mops

At point the conversation between the 3 comes to Ethopia; right of the bat Keith start a singing Careless Ethopians the Toots' musical nugget . Dylan does not seem to be familiar with Hibbert's band. Then the subject turns onto Mick Taylor. The 3 agree that Taylor is great but inconsistent. Keith says that Mick is a great accompagnist. That recording is quite interesting to listen to.

May be on some of the songs Bill did a better job but on others Darryl is better. Why would it be automatically than one is always better? Both are great players and they both have spent 1000 of hours playing Stones's music and they both have been praised by the band. Rockandroll, Mops
