Why do people believe that a top 5 single is something indispensable? Look at the facts.. According to Wikipedia, "Love is Strong" became "the lowest charting first single ever by the band", atleast in the US market. But, if i'm remember correctly, "Voodoo Lounge" became the best selling Stones album since 1981! ABB album have sold better than "

I like the raw sound of the SAL album and the guitar work on the big majority of it's songs. Especially on JJF, Shattered, She Was Hot, All Down The Line, Some Girls, PIB and others. I consider SAL as one of the four best Stones live albums. The worst Stones live album? IMO is "Love You Live", by far. And for sure "LYL" includes the weakest Mick's performances, dear

Hey, folks, we' re talking about an album created 38 years ago. "Exile" sells very well worldwide. An album from 1972, on Global Chart is #1 on the first week and it goes to #4 on it's second week. I think sales couln't be better.

Now i see that "Exile" is #4 on Global Chart, with 107,000 second week sales. Total sales 271,000 so far. Very good!

"31,000 units sold in the UK would be equivalent to over 150,000 in the US." Yes Gazza, but by the look of it, album sales in the US are droping off dramatically these days . Could we talk about real equivalence between US market and UK market? I don't know. A few years ago, an album selling 76,000 copies would be on the tighr rope, on the limit - "in" or "out&quo

I can't believe it... Now in 2010 a Stones album from 1972 goes to #1 on UK chart, on #2 on USA chart and you guys are complaining? "Exile"'s peak positions (now, not in 1972!) are just like "Aftermath"'s positions in 1966 (UK#1, US#2), a bit better than "Let It Bleed" positions in 1969 (UK#1, USA#3) and better than "Between The Buttons"

Thank you! Hey, tumblingdice, the son was born in 2009 (September 25) but, don't worry, i can find connection(s) between the fact and "Exile". I imagine myself in some years from now saynig something like that: "my son, when you was cuting your tooth Number 3, Exile was going to Number 1, after 38 years..."

Great! Great news for symbolical reasons… I mean, actually, charts peak positions aren't a clear figure as for the level of the sales. Peak positions are depending on the conditions of every week. "Some Girls" went to #2 on UK chart, "Voodoo Lounge" went to #1, but i suppose "SG" did better than "VL" in british market, as anywhere else. But, as i s

Doxa, you must be kidding... Numbers taken from Billboard magazine, as for 2009 tours: AC /DC, total attendance 1,583,143. Number of shows 76, Number of sellouts 52. No ba

"Rumors" (1977) sold over 30 million copies. Three times more than what "Some Girls" have sold. Do you think this fact makes Fleetwood Mac bigger than the Stones? "Back In Black" (1980) sold over 42 million (of not more, now) copies, which means more than every Beatles, Zeppelin or Pink Floyd studio album. Who really thinks that AC/DC is bigger than Stones, Beatles,

skipstone, noone says that Keith is on the top of his career these days, of course. But judging from ABB shows i have attended (my experience doesn't include the first gigs of 2007 leg, when Keith really had serious problems) and from SAL too, my conclusion is that Keith's work is far from the pictute of "dead guitarist" some people discribe here. In every case, in my ears St
