Ram- When you are looking at specific guitars is most resonant when guitar is unplugged? Ie - loudest, feel lots of vibrations when you strum all over the guitar. That being said the Japanese versions of guitars are SUPERB. Especially 80s and 90s. you will need to check the specific ones are made in Japan but burny (fernandes), edwards, greco and tokai are all worth looking into.
