Quotewith sssoul Well I'll be - I got a free month of HBO so I can indeed check this out if I feel like staying up until 3AM or something to loathe Scorsese with the full depth and breadth this sssoul can reach (which is quite a lot!) but whatever happens it's so much fun to see Produced by Mick Jagger :E I really wish he'd stuck with the original idea of making a feature

I listen to the Stones all the time. Don't know about being on Stones time as such. I am doing a lot of travelling by car for my job at the moment. Great thing is I get paid whilst driving and listening to the Stones. This week Sticky Fingers has dominated, last week playlist included Aftermath, Exile, Rolled Gold, Sympathy for the Devil boot (69-72) to Boots of Jagger solo tour 88. Migh

I love the Marquee performance. I got the blues, Dead Flowers and Let it Rock are great. I prefer it to the Hamptom 81 and LA forum 75 releases. I have always found the Stones live sound from 81 tour pedestrian and the 75 performance far too sloppy and uninspiring. Marquee was a loose performance but it has that magical quality only the Stones can deliver. If only the Madison Square Garden perf

Just picked up my super deluxe box set today Looking forward to immersing myself in it this weekend. I wish they had included the raw, early studio versions of Brown Sugar and Wild Horses as depicted in the Gimme Shelter movie. They sound great and complement the final versions on sticky fingers. Brown Sugar with Clapton has been widely bootlegged, would have loved those versions described

Quotebleedingman It's very effective both ways. I prefer the original. This works: I absolutely love this video. Does anyone have any more info behind the recording of this version of JJF for this promo?

I don't agree that the Marquee show was a bad one. Great versions of I got the Blues, Let it Rock, Midnight Rambler etc. Would take this show any day over the recent live in Texas 78 and Hampton 81 shows recently released. Hope it gets a standalone release, extremely dissapointed we only get two tracks on the SF reissue.

QuoteBlueranger The problem is, that they never made a "true" 70's compilation with all hits included. It would no doubt have been a huge seller if they had did something like this: Side 1: Brown Sugar Bitch Wild Horses Happy Tumbling Dice Side 2: Rocks Off Rip This Joint Angie (Doo Doo Doo Doo) Heartbreaker Time Waits For No One Side 3: It's Only Rock

Personally, would love to see the Stones with Taylor again but just 2 songs (including wasting him on Satisfaction on an acoustic) is dissapointing. Would love to see him on a few more classics as well as a live version of plundered my soul.

QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotemikesnaps I went to Mick's concert in Australia, I thought it was great. I have a bootleg dvd of the simulcast concert tv special that was aired as well as the superb 'one night stand' cd. Too much polish? Maybe, but one thing I liked was the kick ass guitar work from Ripp/Satriani. At the time you could lay criticism that the Stones had become too slo

The Jagger simulcast concert for Oz was called 'deep down under'. This where the one night stand bootleg is sourced from. I still enjoy cranking up versions of Little Red Rooster, HTW , Miss you, Ruby Tuesday, Start me up and Mick's solo hit Just another night also hits the mark. No, Mick never tried to walk through the crowd, us Aussies unlike spoilt Europeans and Americans had

I was a new fan in the mid 80's. My first album was rewind 71-84. Next one Rolled Gold then followed with great studio albums. I was totally blown away and have been a Stones obsessive ever since. Grr would be a good start (although I find some remixes irritating) Enjoy once you become a true Stones fan it is for life nothing else comes close.

Always enjoyed Tattoo You side 2. Not sure if it's their greatest side 2 of an album, as much as I love it there is stiff competition from the likes of side 2 of Sticky Fingers for example. Worried about you, Heaven and No use in crying are my favourites from this side. The mellow nature of side 2 really seemed to work, the songs on this side flowed and complemented each other. As for the

Any chance one day the entire footage shot at the garden for Gimme Shelter could be released? What a release from the vault that would be!

Agreed 71 shows would be great. I would love the Marquee 71 show on blu Ray. The Stones are almost too dismissive of their legacy. We had to wait decades for RocknRoll circus to be released. Release the Marquee club show and would be great if they could swing a deal to get the 69 Madison square garden footage out as a bluray/DVD That's my Wishlist anyway!

For me it's the live version of Satisfaction from the Gimme Shelter movie. A brilliant version, that's sounds spectacular (some great work by Mick T). Visually looks great too, with the incomparable Jagger having the audience enthralled. Having said that hard to just have one track. Other standouts for me include: SFTD, MR Ya Ya's (MR Hyde Park 69 as well) JJF- Gimme Shelt

Doesn't surprise me, Charlie the true gentleman. He knew my mother in law before he was in the Stones. My wife sent him a letter a couple of years ago with some photos of her Mum. A few weeks later Charlie phones our home to thank my wife for the letter! Still remains the best call we will ever receive in our home

Spot on Doxa, I was knocked out by how good they were in Adelaide. I saw them last in 2003 in Melbourne but they seemed better now in their 70's to boot! My wife saw them with me in Melbourne and wasn't overly impressed, but she hasn't stopped raving about them since seeing them a few weeks ago. Truly remarkable, perhaps they don't take performing for granted and give 110% t

Ssoul True, some would not have been able to make it to a rescheduled show. However, if it was rescheduled on a Saturday the bulk of fans would have moved heaven and earth (not to mention their credit cards) to make it happen. Quotebv Excuse me but The Rolling Stones played Rod Laver Arena one hour drive from Hanging Rock in Melbourne, on Wednesday the same week. If I was a big fan and I could not miss them I would have seen them at the Rod Laver Arena. Hanging Rock was the tourist show. Let us admit that. Wine, hotel, packages, thousands of dollars. Mick has lost his voice on EVERY TOUR since 1998. It is not a big sur

All due respect BV But that's easy for you to say, you have tickets for every show. One cancelled is a bummer but you can go to the next show the following week. Not everyone has the means or time to attend multiple shows over a big continent such as Australia. These poor fans lost possibly the last chance to see their heroes not once but twice! It's only rocknroll? Obviously it
