I was living about half a mile from the Kurhaus when the Stones played there. I was two years old. Became a fan ten years later and somehow the knowledge of the Kurhaus concert made me feel even more connected to them. Still does. Even spent my wedding night at the Kurhaus hotel. They've still got some great pictures of the concert in the basement room. RnT

QuoteDegsy Looks like this is the 1st of a trilogy? "The album will be the first in a trilogy to be recorded in the coming years by Ronnie Wood with His Wild Five band, each paying tribute to Ronnie’s musical heroes. Ronnie chose Chuck Berry for the first album as he has been a lifelong fan, has toured with him and also, to honour his sad passing just over two years ago." Yes, Wood

Quotemr_dja QuoteDandelionPowderman It's one of my dreams to see this brilliant band in concert, mr_dja. The same goes for Peter Wolf. It's time to realise that the East coast isn't the world's navel, Peter! From your lips to Pete's ears! His solo tour is actually coming far enough south this time to be within about 4 hours of me (Atlanta & Nashville) on consecutiv

Quotekeefriff99 QuoteRnT QuoteMr.D I really like the stripped down band he is using on this tour, no horns except Jake, no backup singers, introducing the band only takes a couple of minutes, not ten like on his last few tours! A friend sent this to me, they are going to remaster opening night and spend more time on the others: No back up singers? Stripped down? There're still two women

I'm looking for a book on Springsteen that focuses on the music and his band. I found 'The E Street Shuffle: The Glory Days of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band'. It has very mixed reviews on Amazon however. Is it any good? Or is there a better alternative? Thanks for your opinion.

QuoteDoxa QuoteRank Stranger I presume you are all aware that there's some more exciting live stuff from this tour on the "Charlie Is My Darling" soundtrack. Please don't get me wrong, I really love this stuff, but all live? There are some doubts. From Wikipedia: Quote: "Renowned for its raw-sounding quality, got LIVE if you want it! has endured as a live artifact

Funny, just yesterday at the gym Miss You was played on the radio, a song I had not listened to for ages. And it occured to me how great the guitar work actually is, because it's not that easy to come up with great guitar parts on a bass and keyboard driven song. To make one guitar fit in is a good job, to make all these guitars (Jagger, Richards & Wood) fit in like they did, is really f

QuoteDandelionPowderman Quoteonlystones It's 4am LA time, I'm back in my room. This is my perspective. I know this is the best I show I have ever seen. Bottom line is that flew to LA. Got a nice hotel room, and then bought a ticket then partied before and after the show with my own money. No favors from anyone, which is the only way I travel to Stones shows. I am just a fan. QuoteSilver Dagger Actually my favourite is one with only three words - I'm a monkey. The bridge in Monkey Man is nothing short of sublime, a sweeping piano-led piece played by Nicky Hopkins that shimmers and soars and ascends all the way to the heavens. A beautiful instrumental bridge indeed. Another great one is the instrumental part of Coming Down Again around 3.50 where Bobby Keys a
