>> nothing wrong to admit it. << carlitosbaez, i hope i can try to explain: no one's ethnic background or religious beliefs are relevant to this discussion, or to the way the Oscars work. you could have said "the Hollywood machine had to prize him" and "corporations control Hollywood" - (at least i'm guessing you mean corporations). adding an ad

QuoteGreen Lady One of Hendrik Mulder's Facebook pictures shows that the words along the front edge begin "Love... " and other pictures show that it's "Love you..." but I haven't seen the back of it yet. Thanks, Green Lady! It seems to say the same on the back. Meanwhile, what's the bump on Keith's left arm, about halfway between his wrist a

Quotewith sssoul Quotenick1970 I like Keith’s shirt as well. He looks very cool! I came here looking for some good shots of it, to see the patternn on the front and back. I shall keep seeking :E I think I need to see it zipped up and standing still. It seems to include an allusion to the cover of Hot Rocks, and some writing along the hem. Intriguing.

The Beatles don't rate instruments? One of them appears to have no pants either. I seem not to be the target audience for these items.

Thanks for responding, Irix. The press/media say what they say, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's accurate. And in 2014 Mick left Australia before the others, probably heading to NYC before LA. He didn't want to be harrassed while grieving and I hope he wasn't. I just get pained when people judge the Stones harshly on the basis of guesswork. Who told the newspaper

jumpingjackflash5, your monotonous boom boom boom cutting through the thread every two or three posts is really tiresome, especially when you start busily planning what the band must/should/can do. Let go of their ears – they know what they're doing. I'm happy people enjoyed the show; that's what it was for. If it was hard for us to see photos of that final bow, how hard

As long as I'm here ... Quotegeorgie48 Quotekovach I remember reading that somewhere too that he was Jewish. Not that I care one way or the other. He very well may have been of Jewish ethnicity/heritage while not practicing the Jewish religion. My son's mother is Japanese, but he doesn't practice shintoïsm, buddhism, neither karate, judo, aikido or kendo. In fact he loves A

Just to note in passing: We also don't know whether Mick and/or Keith and/or Ronnie attended Charlie's funeral. When L'Wren died Mick went to NYC right away, but left a "decoy" in Australia so no one knew he'd left and no media harassed him in his grief. They act as they deem fit and no one should be judging them on the basis of guesswork. Blessings on the R

I'm still struggling to come to terms with this. Beautiful inimitable irreplaceable Charlie has died, and my most-loved, most glorious forever band are brokenhearted. And they are trying to go on with a planned tour anyway, for their beloved Charlie, and because they are Rolling Stones. Blessings on all of them, for good.

Was it here or on Rock's Off that the mother of a highly respected member lived next door to the Wattses, and confirmed that Charlie's mother was indeed Jewish. To some people (wicked and otherwise) that means Charlie is Jewish, whatever his personal beliefs are. But it's hard to imagine that dictating to him.

Funeral Blues Various lines of this poem by WH Auden keep circling my head. I know it's inappropriate in a few ways, but it's beautiful, it has cool rhythms, and change or two can make it for Charlie. Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone, Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone, Silence the guitars to hear the silent drum. Bring out the coffin, let the mourners

We have Charlie's rhythms in our bones. What a blessing! Love and light to the beautifully inimitible Charlie Watts, and thanks and praises, forever, for the joy and swing you brought to the world. I hope strength and comfort have already found and enveloped and uplifted his family and friends, and that strength and comfort will find me and other fans soon. Thank you, Charlie xox

QuoteRagnbert I'm a bit proud of myself that I let him and his wife have a night out without fans disburbing them. Maybe others didn't think the way I did, but he was also a private person not only a Rolling Stone. Smile: It's nice to read that someone else had the same instincts as me regarding Charlie's privacy. I've seen him on a few streets and in a café or two and
