Stonesmonth is back. Recorded live at The Town Hall Hotel. discussions center around what happens when the next member of the band sadly passes. And of course about the prospect of a new tour and a new album. Plus a reading from the fabulous Longview Farm diary from the 1981 tour rehearsals. The drunk bits are the best!

I'm actually desperate to hear a good quality recording of this tour. It's so different with Steve. It makes you realise how unique Charlie Watts was. Charlie's death meant the end of the most major version of The stones. The drummer is so important in a band. It's a different band now but still The Rolling Stones to me. Just a different version. To me, there's someth

Agreed Lucab12. Thought the sound was quite average on the whole although I haven’t got very good speakers at the moment. The stripped stuff sounds better.

Thanks for the expert info Winning and frankotero. I'm ready for the switch to digital I think. Although I will miss having the art work and liner notes. But I guess Wikipedia seems to be the new liner notes.

Anyone bought any Stones releases on digital video? I want to start doing it. Would the sound be as good as a dvd? I notice Itunes is selling live at the max. I'm hoping they will put up San Jose soon.

I think I'm the only one in Australia who is concerned about this right now but this release was going to be my first digital video only purchase and it is only availble in itunes america not itunes australia. Have listened to the whole thing on spotify. It's huge! My speakers can't really handle it that well when everyone's playing full boar. IORR is particularly good. For th

81' tour vhs. I was 16 at a guess. And it was around 1987. I thought they looked and sounded amazing! A vhs version of ladies and gentlemen was also for hire at the video store. Blown away again! 81 has a big place in my Stones heart.

Love it. Wild Horses is particularly interesting. With Keith's prominent harmony and Ronnie's nice slide touches. Interesting because it's really another shot at recording the song properly. I'm not suggesting that the original was not recorded properly but it does sound a little sluggish I've always thought. Can't beat the atmosphere of the original I know. Also, I

Will have to purchase this. I'm still wondering about Start Me up. Chris Kimsey said he always knew it was buried there in the vault. That one version that wasn't reggae. My question is did they rerecord anything for this song in 1980 or was it just excellent production that made it sound so good.

Jonny and Terry are back in the cosy confines of The Town Hall Hotel. Heavily informed by this very website IORR they talk long into the night about all things Rolling Stones. Including Keith Richards performance on the current tour, Sticky Fingers live at The Fonda Theatre, Mick Jagger and even Satanic Majesty. This is only a snippet of what goes down in this October 2017 edition of Stonesmonth
