Always one of my favourites....so happy to see this. Thanks for posting. I'll always remember the jaw-dropping moment in Glasgow when they played this live.

Okay here goes.... 1) At the Edinburgh Festival there was a comedy play about an uber-fan kidnapping Mick Jagger. During the play, the screen came on and a recording of Mick reading a ransom note was shown. I noticed that Matt Clifford was in the audience with friends so after the play finished, I approached him and asked if he enjoyed it. He told me he had had a hand in arranging Mick'

Excellent interview. Always good to hear from Bill. Forgot how much fun the video for Je Suis was, in a cheesy sort of way!

Blackberry Smoke for the first time in Edinburgh on Tuesday were fantastic. I see they have an album of all Stones covers. From a brief listen, it sounds pretty good. Faithful to originals but with a country vibe and a southern drawl instead of Jagger vocals. Next gig is The Pretenders in October. I will not be videoing from my phone.... I fear Chrissie's wrath!!

Hoping for a Spain v Netherlands final so that attacking football will be encouraged throughout the game. Tournament has been dominated by boring negative tactics, an unusual amount of own goals, fussy refereeing and the usual playacting/cheating by many players. My country, Scotland, were hopeless. Far too cautious so I want to see risk-taking, attacking play rewarded. Our fans, the

Got one from Dublin 2018. I like it with its shamrock at the top. I doubt there will be another one with Neighbours on it! It's framed in my hallway. I can't recall why I didn't get the one from my home city of Edinburgh. The gigs were close together. I must have a good reason for choosing Dublin I suppose

And a couple of favourites where Mick has added new lyrics to old songs on the deluxe re-releases of GHS and some Girls: All summer long, I've been in Italy Tipplen' down the wine On the run with a different duchess every night But my only lover came from antiquity Found her on a building site She's got no head, she's cut from marble so white. Oh when you call my name, I salivate like a Pavlog dog... One time you were my baby chicken but now you turned into a fox One upon a time I was your little rooster, now am I just one of your cocks? Well I hope we're not too Messianic or a trifle too satanic... The servants are so helpful, yeah The cook she is a whore The butler has a place for her Behind the pantry door The mai

This a great album....fantastic guest appearances, particularly in the guitar department. Great songs too, along with Ian's vocals. Stand-out tracks - Title track - Defiance, Bed of Roses, I Hate Hate, No Hard Feelings, Guernica and Angel (with Waddy Watchel)... that's most of them actually! Rock til you drop Ian Hunter! Always brilliant live too.

I heard Mick say say something about this on stage. It sounded like he was joking to me.... "The avatars aren't quite ready yet, so you'll have to make do with the real thing." Taking the piss out of Abba was how I perceived it.

A great character and an even better songwriter. I saw The Pogues several times back in the day. I count myself very lucky... The gigs at The Barrowlands Ballroom, Glasgow are the craziest I've ever attended. Absolutely wild..and no matter how lubricated Shane was, he always delivered.

QuoteGazza Quotepeoplewitheyes By the way, once-time Stones biographer Philip Norman was just on BBC Radio 4's PM show casting a very disparaging view of the new single and band as a whole. What's his beef? He's an absolute dick. Updates his 'biography' every time they have a new release/tour with a brief chapter covering a decade that seems to have been put together s

Possibly Van's greatest ever live performance! At least that's recorded. Nearly spat my beer out when he started doing those high kicks at the front of the stage. Have seen him live several times and it's been a mixed bag. He is consistently grumpy though....

Bruce was fantastic in Edinburgh last night. Great set list in my opinion - 29 songs and The Boss was onstage for every minute of a 3 hour show. Not holding back when it came to the vocals either. Quite emotional during spoken intro to Last Man Standing. Excellent sound at Murrayfield stadium. And finally - fantastic earrings on Steve Van Zandt! Sun was shining and my section of the crowd

Very interesting. Bill is always busy it would seem. No regrets about leaving the band - fair play to him. I do wish he'd either grow a beard/moustache/goatee or shave properly though....

I was getting ready to leave home to see Chrissie Hynde in concert, playing the songs of Bob Dylan. I got a text from a fellow Stones fan and friend which simply said: "Holy shit".... I checked the sad news online then had to leave for the gig, feeling upset. When Chrissie took to the stage, she said that she had just heard the news about her friend Charlie Watts. Said she'd

RIP Paulie Walnuts........ I will watch a couple of classic Sopranos episodes tonight and raise a toast to one of the great characters in the greatest show of all time (in my humble opinion)... It's impossible to imagine any other actor playing Paulie.

On Friday, the Hope & Anchor was open til 1am. It was a fantastic night - a big thankyou to the guys in the band for putting on such a great show ( I really wasn't expecting to hear Can't You Hear Me Knocking two nights in a row). So after the gig on Saturday, I was really surprised to find that central bars which were heaving, would suddenly announce they were closed with no l

Fair play. That's your honest opinion. Can I suggest you do something else with your spare time? You clearly don't really enjoy The Stones anymore so good luck in finding a hobby that brings you more pleasure.....

Would anyone be interested in this swap? My mate from USA got a GC East ticket. When I searched, East were sold out so I got a West one. I now see that East are back on sale again. Would anyone be willing to swap so that we can stand together? Alternatively, if someone wants to buy my West ticket for face value, I can then buy an East. It's a long shot but worth a try.... P

So proud of our fantastic captain Eve Muirhead and the Scottish lasses for beating Japan 10-3 to win Gold in the Curling. My wife is Japanese but graciously accepts that the better team won No disgrace in the Men winning Silver in an extremely close final. Congratulations to Norway too. It's always good to see countries with small populations punching well above their weight.....

QuoteDoxa Quotecrawdaddy Well! Team GB will come away from the Olympics with at least a Silver, and hopefully it will be a Gold in the men's curling Final. The women have still got the semi finals, and hopefully our girls will get a Bronze at least and really wish they will get a Gold or Silver medal. Damn, I didn't know that Great Britain is a helluva curling country! Good luck t
